Adrenal Insufficency
Hi All, I am new to this forum, was looking for anyone who might have any experience dealing with adrenal insufficency after long term steroid use? My asthma is poorly controlled, I currently take: Seretide 250 (2, twice a day) Flixotide 250 (4, twice a day) Singulair 10mg (2 at night) Phyllicontin

Bunion surgery
Hi, has anyone out there experienced having surgery for correcting bunions? Mine are bad enough now to warrant an orthopaedic referral but I have no idea what to expect, apart from the factual information gleaned from the www. I know everyone is different but would be grateful to hear of experiences

Newbie to Singulair
Been put on Singulair, along with my Seretide. I've read the Singulair posts on here and will let you know whether any nasty side effects come along. Interesting the posts about bad dreams, as that's what I've woken up from, for the last week. Maybe they will disappear for me? Yawning my head off

Tootsies cramp
Does anyone else find their toes cramp more when barometer goes up? Just spent a night, just managing to hide the fact that my toes are exceedingly painful and bent over. As designated driver, just had to sit tight with my diet coke and have occasional visits to the ladies to try and straighten the toes

Emotional!
Hi Guys, I am currently taking Seretide 250 2 puffs x2 daily, plus singulair. Recently, I have been feeling more and more emotional, and tend to cry at the smallest of things, and particularly feel quite soppy! This change in emotion - I haven't always been like this - has coincided with starting the

Hi, I’m new here and relatively new to asthma. I just had a few questions that I hoped someone would be able to answer. I had asthma as a child and as far as I know it was well controlled and one of those things that I just grew out of. I am now 19 and 2 years ago I moved into university accommodation

Is it a flare up?
I am currently taking Seretide am and pm to control my asthma which works fine. Every now and again though I feel as though my asthma is flaring up, my chest feels constricted and feel like i can't get a full breath in or out but the thing that confuses me is that my peak flow is bang on (530). Wondered

Hi Had my second check up with the doctor from the hosptial - she has increased my seretide from a 250mg to a 500mg (1 puff dosage has not changed but this means the accuhaler will last me longer!) and added singulair back on at a stronger 10mg. She also gave me another course of preds which i totally

Chest pain in the morning
Hello, I wondered if womeone could help me, or if anyone has a similar experience. I don't have much asthma during the night (I doesn't wake me up) but when I wake up in the morning I often have chest pains, and my chest feels tight, like there's a weight on it. For some reason, this seems to be worse

What next?
Hey, I've had another rough week with my asthma, managed to persuade my GP I didn't need hospitalising on Monday, but hes had me back in the surgery everyday this week to check my oxygen sats and to see how I've been doing. Fortunatly I'm much better now, so going to start decreasing my 60mg of pred

The new Symbicort SMART inhaler
I was wondering if any of our esteemed medical professionals has had any direct experience of this-either personally or prescribed to their patients-is it as good as it sounds?-I ask this because although my Seretide has undoubtedly done me some good,I would prefer not to take any steroid medication

All Change - Take control of stress, Make your GP work!
I havent posted here in a long while - I used to be a regular here and would need to seek the advice of others here as my doctors were so bad in determining what was happening to me. Long story cut short - I had a two year period of constant bouts of attacks and the worst thing of all was that I had

Seretide
I have just been put on Seretide 125 [salmeterol/fluticasone propionate] to be used with a spacer by the specialist instead of Quaver 50. Will i find that when i get this working [doc says 2 weeks] that i will be able to come off the steroid tablets and feel as good as i do on them? Is it any good.

Slightly disappointing news
After about 6 months ""off"" Seretide where I havent been feeling too bad,my latest astma clinic visit has revealed that my peak flow has dropped from 500-525 to 400 so its back to the inhaled steroids again-small beer compared to the problems some of you have but still feel a bit miffed though !!

Confused and worried
Hi everyone, I'm quite new to asthma, but I'm a bit confused. Ive been having really bad attacks recently, and I'm going back to my asthma nurse on Monday for a review of my medication. My symptoms seem to be caused by stress - yesterday on the bus on the way to school I had probably my worst attack

Tight Chest and Painful upper arms
I have been very tight chested as late and having to take a lot more of my blue inhaler I not sure but I think it may be the weather. I have also had some noisey whistlely breathing these last few nights. I am going to see the doctor tomorrow afternoon to ask him if I can have some nebules for my nebulizer
