Tootsies cramp

Does anyone else find their toes cramp more when barometer goes up? Just spent a night, just managing to hide the fact that my toes are exceedingly painful and bent over. As designated driver, just had to sit tight with my diet coke and have occasional visits to the ladies to try and straighten the toes out. I'm on seretide 250, two puffs twice daily.

I get the cramps quite badly, but that is because I use Bricanyl Sub Cut. Might be worth asking your doctor for quinine tablets, they can help with serious long term cramp.

Or failing that when not driving several bottle of tonic water with added gin (only joking about the last bit). Perhaps drinking tonic water daily might help because of the added quinine.

I don't know if this will help but my dad suffers with quite severe camps in his legs and as he isn't that keen on things like banana's the doctor recommended a glass of tonic water a day and so for the last couple of years he has had a glass of tonic water with his main meal and so far so good!

I get it in my feet as if feet go in to spasums and then hurt to move. My pain killers help me for OA .x

Thank you for replying.

Since prefer hard bananas but they go softish so quickly, tend not to buy them much.

Instead, will try daily glass of tonic, not necessarily with the gin.

If still a problem will ask asthma nurse about quinine tablets at review.

Thanks for the pointers.

yep i get cramp in my calfs and feet. quite painful isnt it. i always just try to move around or massage them -but granny mo dont do this in public :)

I too get cramp in my feet, never thought of checking the barometer but will do now. I also get headaches when barometer goes above 30.

This should put a smile on your face......

When I get cramp in my feet my hubby pushes on my toes and it goes quicker.... well...we had been shopping at the supermarket and had just got back into the car when I started with the most toe curling cramp I have ever suffered!! Hubby lifts my leg onto his lap and starts saying to me 'push, push you'll be fine, just push against me'

Up runs a woman who had heard him shouting push....she thought I was in labour...he he I don't know who was more embarrassed, me, hubby or her. I would have had a hard time had I been in labour as I was wearing jeans lol

I hate the toe cramps. I find they are worse if I stand up for a long period of time and 4am!

What do people do to help them? I tried massaging the foot and toes but I just can't do anything to relieve the symptoms. I tried the tonic water and I couldn't drink it at all...tasted revolting, even when I put a bit of vodka in it :-) I have tried moving my toes into the opposite direction of the cramp but that doesn't work. I can't eat bananas either. Any ideas would be gratefully received

I used to get cramp in my calfs whilst asleep when I stretched my legs - it's a side effect of Symbicort inhaler when on higher dose (the 400/12 instead of 200/6) but thankfully i've not experienced it for some time.

Good luck, I hope you get your cramp fixed, it's a horrible thing to have!

Cold floor

When I get cramps in my feet best thing I find is to stand on a cold floor - if you have a carpeted house you need a cold surface and I find the colder the better. Works for me.
