Feeling desperate
Hi I'm 39 and I've had asthma symptoms for just under a year. I was diagnosed in late spring/summer, although one of the asthma nurses in the practice didn't think I had asthma - apparently I don't fit the criteria. They started me on clenil, which worked really well but the regular dose still left

Extra air to exhale? (after new meds)
Hi, I've noticed a few changes in my asthma/ breathing patterns and was wondering if anyone had similar experiences or advice which they could share. I've just switched this week from Seretide 500 to symbicort 200 (2 doses/ twice daily at this stage). So far my peak flow has increased slightly (420

Do you worry about side effects?
I am on Symbicort 400/12 twice daily as well as montelukast. I find it really hard to know when I've run out of Symbicort because of the way the dial is on the inhaler and only realise when I start to get wheezy and a tight chest by which time I reckon I've been 'taking it' without any powder coming

GP changed meds without telling me
So, today I go to pick up my repeats from the pharmacy and when I check my bag there's an unusual box in there, Flutiform, instead of my usual Seretide. When I went to my Doctors reception to ask why my prescription has changed to a different drug combination, she explained that it had been done because

I can't cope with this much more!
Evening all, I hope everyone is ok. I have just been discharged from hospital, and I'm struggling again (been to acute medicine clinic today for nebs). I've lost count of the number of admissions now but I have just had enough, of bouncing in and out of hospital, of not being able to work...not being

Asthma is really getting me down
Hello to all, Thank you for taking the time to read my post. My asthma is starting to get me down at the moment. Most days I am struggling with shortness of breath, tight chest and I wake up at night needing my inhaler, I also feel very weak which makes me very tried. My peak flow has also started

Symbicort to Seretide
Appointment with GP this morning as my breathing is worse than when I was diagnosed in July. Switched me from Symbicort 200/6 to Seretide 250. She said I should not be displaying these symptoms at this early stage - FEV1 73%. Had 2 chest x rays which are clear. Blood tests clear. No sign of chest

Seretide 125 for a 4 year old?
my son who is nearly 4 has pretty bad asthma and has been on seretide 50 for about 12 months (2 puffs twice a day) He has now been changed by the consultant to seretide 125 two puffs twice a day which seems a very high dose. Anyone else have experience of a young child on such a dose?

Change of Inhalers
Hi, I'm changing inhalers from Symbicort to Seretide, is it safe to do so straight away as the two inhalers use two different drug combinations. Thanks

Just been told I have emphysema.
Hi, new here, my GP admitted me to hospital last week because she thought I had clots on lung. Had CTPA scan and no clots, and first doctor said chest x-ray was fine apart from more air in lungs than normal. The next day consultant examined me and looked again at x-ray, said there are signs of emphysema
