Hi, yeah it's safe to do :-) I changed from seretide to symbicort months ago - no longer on symbicort either. But was able to do it straight away. My consultant at the time had me on a high dose of pred for a couple of weeks to cover the period where the new steroid started acting.

I'm on 2 different steroids at the min - fostair (which is the same as qvar plus LABA) and ciclesonide.

If you have any concerns though moral nekton your gp - they should be as to reassure :-)

Laura

saw nurse other day * because i have a chest infection they have stopped my CLENIL & given me FOSTAIR a pink inhaler with a dark pink cap 2 puffs morning & 2 puffs evening then my SALBUTAMOL But chest infection is not budging christine

Laura you're the only other person I know on ciclesonide as well as fostair. I've been on it for years but never known anyone else have it lol.

they gave it me because of bad chest infection which does not want to go away lol

Thanks Laura

No probs newengland :-) hope it was helpful!!

Nursefurby - I've been on fostair/ciclesonide since about July. I *think* I like the fostair, but not so sure about the ciclesonide. It makes me feel gunky. I'm on the max daily dosage of fostair, but my cons wants a higher dose of ics. Was quite a surprise when he put me on 2 different types of ics - dont think it's common though?
