Doctors in Poland illegally paid to prescribe Seretide
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-26970873 I reckon Smith Glaxo Kline should be paying me, the amount of Seretide I get through and contribute to their ginormous profits. My GP asked me other week if I thought it helped and when I said no but I take it anyway, he said that at least I was helping keep

Seretide is it the answer?
Hello I've had asthma since I was born and it seems worse controlled than ever with lots of exacerbations oral steroids and thrush in my throat and airways. I stopped my nasal sprays earlier this year and switched to nasal washing and that seems to have improved things, it's certainly stopped the thrush

Ulcers
Are mouth ulcers a potential side effect of inhalers and/or pred? I've been on some doseage of pred pretty much solidly since November- originally 40mg PD now tapered down to around 5mg (finally!). Im also on ciclesonide 160 2 puffs twice a day and seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day and have been at that

Sleep problems
Has anyone else found that corticosteroids cause their child to have sleep problems? Our son had to come off Montelukast a couple of years ago due to a total change in behaviour and sleep problems. This all went back to normal within a week of coming off it. He has since been on Seretide 50 but this

A rant I'm afraid! My chest had taken its usual noise dive after being no trouble for months. I've been coughing up gunk, a horrible taste when I cough, pf is at best about 70%, I feel like I'm only using half my lungs like I'm drowning (Ok I know a bit dramatic but that's what it feels like!) And I'm

Getting a consultant referral
Hi I'm looking for some advice about how to get referred to a respiratory consultant. I'm in my late 30's and was diagnosed with asthma aged 19. Initially it was well controlled with inhalers and with only a few triggers such as cold air, cigarette smoke, and viral infections. Since 2007 it's become

Lower than (my usual) average peak flow, and asthma nurse suddenly concerned.
Hi, new user here! I've had asthma all my life, it's genetic, and I've been relatively symptom free recently! Usually, I notice it at night, or after running, but otherwise, I don't take my reliever (Ventolin 200 Accuhaler) at all. During an asthma check-up, my asthma nurse said that my peak flow was

Negative results but allergic to something?! What?!!
Hi, we have a 5year old girl with suspected cough variant asthma and all round rhinitis. She is on a lot of meds, montelukast, seretide 125 (4 puffs a day), ventolin (4 puffs daily), theophlynne (caffeine tabs), nasonex (once a day), cetirizine (twice a day). TBH, I think our asthma consultant is a bit

Hi everyone, I am new to this and was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between copd and bronchiectasis. Thank you.
I am new to all this but have posted one silly question before (with hindsight). I have read and learned a lot from all of you, but what has struck me the most is the genuine kindness and caring that shines through. I have looked up copd and bronchiectasis but it confuses me more! I have had asthma for

Does anyone using Seretide 25/250 have oral problems.
I have been using it for a number of years now but just lately have started to suffer with a sore throat and mouth. Does anyone else have any side affects.

Poor care at GP practice
I saw a consultant this week and gathered from her reaction that the asthma care at my GP practice is really poor. From what I read on AUK website it is rather common, unfortunately, but I'm curious as to how others have dealt with this and what their experiences were. The nurse that was assigned to

Meds
I was diagnosed a year ago with severe COPD and put on Spiriva and Seretide, I dont feel one iota different, neither better nor worse. Should I feel better, or do they just keep you stable?

Asthma is making me feel rough
Hello everyone, I know many of you will be feeling the same way as I do at the moment with my asthma. I am currently suffering with a chest infection and my asthma is really playing up. My peak flow drop last Wednesday to 350 and I had started to coughing up greeny yellowy phlegm so I started 30mg

Atrovent experiences?
My son Leo, as some of you will know, has a rough time of it with asthma attacks and is on Seretide 125 in the mornings, Seretide 50 in the evenings, prednisolone more often than not and of course salbutamol (no longer on Singulair as this is more for allergic asthma and his triggers are viral and weather
