Does anyone using Seretide 25/250 have oral problems.

I have been using it for a number of years now but just lately have started to suffer with a sore throat and mouth. Does anyone else have any side affects.

I'm on nystatin for thrush of the throat.

Do you rinse and gargle thoroughly after using your Seretide? I do and also have a pot & a half of plain live yogurt daily (perhaps that's why it's only in my throat) but have still got the sore throat.

Ii clicked on one of the tags below my own post and found a person with Lupus was raving on the effectiveness of a toothpaste Aloe-dent. from Holland n Barrett. I will invest in some.

Good luck but do go to doc ASAP for treatment, if you don't rinse etc start now. P

ps my Seretide 250 dose was doubled to 500 in December which probably caused my thrush.

Many thanks peeg I am seeing the docs today as this has only recently started. I will start the mouth rinse from today

'Live' yogurt is good too. I use Yeo plain 0% fat.

Cut out sugar as sugar feeds the fungal infection - apologies if you already know that!

You need to rinse out after every use.

I do all the rinsing eating live probiotic you hart and still sometimes end up with oral thrush ill check out the toothpaste that peeg talked about hope I can get it here

A friend of mine suffered the same thing - I was amazed that she hadn't been advised to rinse the mouth very thoroughly after every inhalation; the asthma nurse was very insistent that I did this from day one and I never had a problem. It goes quite quickly once you start rinsing.

No I was hold by lung nurses to rinse my mouth out after I used it

I have been using it for about 8 years. The hospital pharmacist says to gargle with clean water after every dose as it leaves you prone to thrush in the mouth/throat. Seems to work but if I get thrush in my mouth I get the doctor to prescribe NYSTAN which seems to clear things up.

I use mine with a spacer was given it years ago after I complained of sore mouth! Good luck

I have been on seretide 500 for 5 years no probs

Always clean teeth after using - it contains steroid which can cause thrush in the mouth.
