NHS Cancelling my mdedication
The nurse at my doctors surgery just called me and advised that "due to the NHS cutting costs" I would have to change my medication. I have been asthmatic since birth and struggled in the last couple of years to control it (I just turned 27) finally finding the right medication after a flare up for around

Daughter has referral to hospital
Hi my 3 yr old daughter has been referred to hospital now for consultant led care, can anyone tell me what to expect? She's been having a really rough ride at the minute, just finishing an 8 day course of pred, had another one only two weeks ago so I'm really worried about the amount of steroids she's

Uncontrolled Asthma
Dear All I have suffered from asthma for 25 years ,and it has always been well controlled with Ventolin and Seretide 250 which was changed to Seretide 500 accuhaler but the dry powder aggravated my chest. I gave up smoking in August 2013 and I have never felt worse tbh. I was in hospital in April

Another hospital stay
Hi Everyone I'm on Seretide 250 (2 puffs twice a day) I got cold symptoms so added in Flixotide 250 (2 puffs twice a day) as well as added regular Salbutamol & Atrovent. I'm already on Montelukast and started Prednisolone and antibiotics on the advice of my GP. 2 days later I had to go to A & E twice

Do you feel as you cannot take deep breath most of the time?
Hi, Does anybody has an urge to take deep breath and cannot most of the time ? Is it one of the typical asthma symptoms? I read that it could be an anxiety - but if I am anxious its just because of constant shortness of breath! My consultant seems to thinks that all my breathlessness symptoms are

Fostair Nexthaler
I asked to go back on Seretide which I feel helps me more and yet again he refused saying that it has too many side effects and asthma patients are being taken off it. I have now been put on Fostair Nexthaler and have to take two puffs twice a day. I hope this works as well as Seretide because since

From very mild to uncontrolled asthma
Hi everyone I'm Sam. 27 years old and I've had asthma since I was a small boy. Only, I don't feel like I've had asthma at all up until this summer. Prior to that I could count the times I needed to use my blue inhaler in any given year on one hand, it was just something that didn't really effect me

Seretide
I was on Seretide 100 for quite a few years and it kept my asthma under control. For no reason I was changed to Qvar 100 which definitely is not as good as Seretide. I feel tight chested and my asthma does not seem as well controlled. I asked my doctor if I could go back on Seretide and he said there

One step forward two back
morning everyone My asthma has been a problem for about eighteen months. Now on Seretide, Montelukast, and ventolin. Plus steroid every few weeks. I had blood clots on my lungs in May this year, and was unwell for a long time with that. Every time I get to a point where, I can do the normal stuff

A number of you questioned

Anybody been switched to Fostair?
I opened my repeat prescription collection today to find a completely different inhaler inside - Fostair instead of Seretide. I called the pharmacist thinking it was a mistake and he informed me I'd been switched by my GP and it's an equally effective medication. When I questioned the fact they were

Have I got Cushing Syndrome?
For years I was on high strength steroid Seretide. I didn't like it from the start because only two weeks after taking it my joints hurt. A significant number of years on I developed funny little issues for example I couldn't get through the night without having to go to the toilet, severe bruising

Hi all Just wondering if anyone else is like myself. Nearly every month for over a year now I have to take AB and steroids. I'm so breathless at the moment and coughing a lot, so I have started again my AB and steroids. I seem to be fine for about 2 weeks after AB and steroids stop then it all seems
