Hi All Just found this site this morning. Very helpful. Hoping for some advice from those who have experience of this. I'm a non smoker but brought up in a smoking household. I was hospitalised at 9 months ago with what they thought was exacerbated asthma. I haven't has asthma for over 13 years and

Flutiform v Seretide
Anyone else had a letter from their surgery informing them of a change to their medication from Seretide to Flutiform? Thing is I have had no consultation and my hospital specialist will not know about it. And when I research it I find it looks like a cost-cutting exercise by the Primary Care Trust rather

Asthma and working
Hi, i've had asthma for around 7yrs, a little bit about myself: I contracted it when I had a really bad flu, I'm on seretide and salbutamol, its very rare I use the salbutamol, and rarely get the swollen throat any more, but it does effect my chest if I don't take precautions like when I'm round pollen

Just a rant really!
Just need a rant really - I am currently really struggling as my asthma (allergy/hayfever triggered) has come back after stopping breastfeeding my third little monkey. I have gone from normal running around with no symptoms, minimal meds and a peak flow of 400 to spending 3 weeks with a peak flow of

Some success with breathing excercises and new meds.
Hi, This week I attended an excellent pulmonary physio at the hospital I am attending. She is trained in amongst other things Buteyko. From this she has cobbled together a set of excercises based on both conventional breathing retraining for hyperventilation and Buteyko. I have been practicing these

cough variant asthma?
I was prescriber Ramapril in Oct 2013 and started coughing and it's still going on. For 18 months, I couldn't sleep without strong sleeping tablets. My GP (who wasn't the one prescribing ramapril), told me she couldn't give me anything for the cough because they didn't know what it was. However

Seretide - did it cause you long term side effects?
Hello everyone, I am looking to get in touch with people that have used Seretide inhalers to hear what side effects they may have experienced. More the long term ones than the itchiness etc that can occur in the initial state. It did help me breathe but has caused other additional side effects that I

Going round in circles
Hi there. I've been back and forth to go since December with repeated exacerbation so. On prednisilone every four or five weeks. Go said I need to see asthma nurse, but saying its best to wait till I've been of steroids for six weeks. Clearly that hasn't happened. Anyhow, long story short, finally
