Epilepsy, not having empathy, outbursts, and insults that are impulsive
Hello. I'm on 500mg of Keppra, and 15mg Mirtazapine. Lately, I have been insulting towards people, without realising and I have also been quite nasty to people, again, impulsively, without realising. I also have aspergers, and depression. Is it down to the Aspergers, depression, and epilepsy? Some think

Epilepsy after encephalitis
Hi everyone, my partner had encephalitis (unknown cause) last October. He has been taking a high dose of steroids since then to rule out an autoimmune cause but, since then he has been having between 1-3 seizures everyday. We have been told they are complex partial seizures and while his recovery is

Liver tests with AEDs?
Hi, I’ve been living with epilepsy for around 18 years and have been taking Keppra and Clobazam for around 16 (1000mg and 10mg respectively, everyday). A colleague of mine who also has epilepsy said I should be having regular liver tests...is this correct? I rarely hear from my doctor about my condition

Keppra
Had my appointment with a consultant at the hospital and she has decided that she would like to up my dose of keppra, at the time I said ok I would, but I don’t know about anyone else I always come out thinking over the conversation I have had. Anyway I realised that she hadn’t read my notes properly

Keppra - positive/negative experiences?
I am currently taking 125mg x 2 per day Lamictal (Lamotrigine), in the process of increasing my dose due to recent seizures, but the medication still doesn't seem to be working as I had another tonic-clonic yesterday. As an alternative my neurologist has recommended Keppra but it is ultimately up to

Keppra....5 months on
Hello everyone. I wrote a first post here 5 months ago: https://healthunlocked.com/epilepsyresearchuk/posts/136443630/were-new-here.... about my daughter's and my wife's epilepsies. I thought it would be useful to comment about my daughter's experiences with Keppra after 5 months of usage. Initially

Post surgery relapse?
My 70 year old Mum had emergency surgery last year for a brain abscess, after spending two months in hospital she came home. She had a few weeks of physios and therapists visiting but once that stopped there was no support. Mum was slowly recovering, her speech, memory and walking all improved. But then

bad odors and snythroid
I have recently started on synthroid for a little low thyroid . I have been on Keppra and lamotrigene for seizures for many months. When I started synthroid I began to smell terrible odors. .Everything smells bad- shampoo, detergent, food, myself etc.Could it be from an interaction of these drugs? Or

Keppra and pregnancy
During my last pregnancy I was taking Lamictal and am pleased to say that I had a healthy baby. Unfortunately Lamictal isn’t working for me and as such I’m now coming off it and on to Keppra. Eventually we would like to have another baby - has anyone else been on Keppra whilst pregnant and if so how

FEELINGS
Touch wood, I have been seizure free for nearly 7 yrs now. But I get like a cold feeling going through my body sometimes. When this used to happen before it was like a warning that a seizure was coming on in next minute or so. Even my wife could tell. Has anyone else had feelings like this. I seem

I'm so glad I found this forum! I was diagnosed with "atypical epilepsy" a couple of years ago. The reason for the diagnosis was that no brain damage could be found, neither on EEG:s nor on MRI:s (and I have had several of them). For a long time, my only symptoms were blackouts lasting 1-2 minutes. I

Pregnancy and epilepsy
Looking for anyone with a similar experience! I have a son who is turning 4 next week - I had pre eclampsia which turned to eclampsia in the end stages of my pregnancy and ended up taking a seizure mid labour. 7 weeks on from his birth I had a seizure (tonic clonic) and was put onto epilim.
