When this Canadian doctor found a cure for schizophrenia and depression he was blacklisted by the American Psychiatric Association
He advanced a plausible biochemical hypothesis to explain the cause of
schizophrenia
and how niacin and vitamin C could eliminate its symptoms and prevent relapses.

How anxiety can create hallucination.
How Anxiety Can Create Hallucinations Intense anxiety can cause not only fear, but symptoms that create further fear. In many ways, intense anxiety can cause the feeling of going crazy – as though you are losing touch with reality. Sometimes this is nothing more than a feeling or thought. Other times

Why everyone on Thyroid UK needs to join the Pernicious Anemia (PA) forum and vice-versa (part one)
I never heard of that before - all I knew about
schizophrenia
was the guy in "A Beautiful Mind" who aside from seeing Nazis in the closet, seemed to have his act together a lot more than my wreck of a kid with Alzheimer's and Parkinsons together!

Thyroid and Schizoaffective Disorder/Bipolar Disorder
I recently discovered that Thyroid problems can be misdiagnosed as
Schizophrenia
as well. I was wondering if my therapist is incorrectly labeling me as Schizoaffective. I had strange thoughts as a child (really into imaginary worlds), but that might be linked to my Autism.

Has anyone experienced psychological symptoms before being diagnosed with a thyroid problem?
I got so worried I might be developing
Schizophrenia
but several doctors have reassured me that this is not the case as I don't appear psychotic and have no other major symptoms of this like thought disorder or auditory hallucinations.

Pregnant woman with schizophrenia and depression-help required
My 34 year old sibling has depression, maybe even
schizophrenia
, and she is 5 months pregnant now. She was on Zoloft for a few years but stopped medication couple of months before she became pregnant. What assistance does she need now? Which medications can/must she take now before pregnancy?

Mental health issues and steroids revisited: Still wondering about the thyroid connection?
Thank goodness someone tested this or I'm sure she would certainly have been labelled either with bipolar or
schizophrenia
in the absence of anything organic. She was treated by Neurology with immunoglobulin transfusions and almost immediately the psychosis and other symptoms cleared.
