Salbutamol/ventolin asthma
I think doses/puffs can be confusing as it depends on what strength we are discussing Ventolin /Salbutamol (blue inhaler). I take a 200 microgram Salbutamol turbohaler. Even having asthma in the family it took me 4 years from my first asthma attack at 15 until I was finally diagnosed at 19. I have

Flu Jab?
So just been to my GP who has put me on a course of steroids after that nasty cough/cold bug doing the rounds has hit and I haven’t been able to shake off for the last two weeks and as a consequence has set my so called seasonal asthma off! So been back on my Clenil Modulite as it hit my breathing straight

I used to be on this forum under a different pseudonym so hi again! My asthma seemed to be going well; until last week, my last attack was ‘just’ a severe one back in August 2017. Two Asthma Attacks in the space of Two Months—Should I be concerned?
Before I get into this whole thing since I am new on this forum, I just want to start off by saying that from birth I was quite sickly. I was born with malfunctioning kidney valves that taken two years to fix, had severe asthma growing up and my first asthma attack was when I was 8 years old, I had two

Difficult to diagnose and treat asthma, not VCD... 3rd asthma doctor needed
My current asthma doctor has recently decided that most of my coughing and SOB symptoms are attributed to VCD. During my latest URI and flare she told me it was my VCD and to rest and use cough medicine. That didn’t work, I called in two more times- my cough and SOB was constant and she still wouldn’

Another trip to A&E with my 4 year old son
So just needed to rant a little.... I posted about 2 weeks ago when my son caught another cold resulting in a visit to the out of hours clinic and a 5 day course of pred (5th dose in 10 months). The GP upped the dose of the preventer inhaler to 2 x 2puffs 100mcg Clenil and we were hoping to see out

When to call an ambulance for a child.
Hi everybody, I have a 5 year old with severe eosinophilic asthma, he has had 38 hospital admissions in the last 2.5 years and he is symptomatic (wheezes) every night and approx 5/7 days daytime symptoms. I am happy with the care he receives from the 2 hospitals that he is under and his school and childminder

So many bugs!
Ugh so I’d just managed to clear one virus (+ pleurisy) that I was in with 2.5 weeks ago and already seem to have picked up another one 🙄 That combined with the cold, damp weather, our neighbours having fireworks earlier in the week and Diwali celebrations on tonight mean I have one unhappy chest 😫

4 year old with suspected Asthma
Have been following the forum with great interest so hoping that I could get some advice for my 4 year old son. He was first diagnosed with viral-induced wheeze back in February of this year after being admitted to paediatric A&E. He was given a Salbutamol inhaler and a course of prednisolone. We thought

Another update - 8 weeks and counting
After obeying the GP who told me the cough was pharygeal and to take a cough suppressant and reduce the QVar (brown) inhaler, and that I did not have asthma, unsurprisingly things became worse. I then developed an ear infection but no surgery appointments available so saw out of hours GP - who told me

It's not been a good day and I'm feeling quite down now about it...
Last week I felt so much better and the last couple of days bit downhill again. Dry hacking a bit and getting breathless, week 6 of Bronchitis and I know the symptoms do linger on for a long time as Ive had it last 3 years running. But today went to meet two friends at Bluewater and found cos I was talking

What do I do?!
So fed up, Thursday night woke up with coughing/ tight chest. Peak flow was at 230. Went to drs in the morning and got steroids for 5 days. felt just as bad that evening with salbutamol not helping. So I went back that they wanted to send me to a&e but we compromised with a nebuliser at drs. But with

Asthma with no wheeze?
My daughter is six years old. She has had severe food allergies and asthma since birth. Her tiggers are food eatin, food particles fine enough to inhale(steamed milk, or smoking beef) and viruses. My question is: does anyone else have asthma attacks but there is no wheeze before or after the attack.
