I'm at a bit of a loss
Hi everyone, Sorry this is going to be a bit of a long post but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do. I'm 21 and have brittle asthma and have had 13 admissions to intensive care and god knows how many 'normal' admissions over the past 3 years. I'm currently taking fostair 100/6 , spiriva, salbutamol

Rescue before controller?
I went to my doctor who said that (while changing medications) he couldn't give me a dose of symbicort because he gave me a dose of albuterol. Is this true, or, is he just overly cautious?

Wheezy Again
Peak flow keeps dropping debating a trip to A&E it's currently at 230 asthma plan says if it goes below 210 then go. I'm feeling really rubbish had two salbutamol nebs which have not helped and loads of ventolin inhalers plus topped up with extra fostair ... Doing everything I've been told.

What works better for you.... Pro-Air or Ventolin?
I just doing my research on Albuterol inhaler. For me, I notice that Pro-air works better for me for quick relief. Please share your experience on your situation. If there any other inhaler that works better, please let me know.

Brand new to this, well, sort of - and need help to learn
My question is: when do I know I should take ventolin? This may sound odd, but perhaps less so with my story below. Now in my sixties I was diagnosed in the last couple of years. I had noticed myself wheezing intermittently and briefly, and then For a period found it hard to breathe out on excercise.

Not controlled asthma- exercise or not?
Hi, My asthma is not controlled and I feel more breathless even after a short walk. I saw a consultant yesterday and he suggested that I should still exercise - at least 30 min of fast walk a day I don't go out much as I fear that it can cause an asthma attack, more time off work etc.. But the lungs

Hi, I've got breathlessness exacerbation now, tried to phone hospital for a few weeks for respiratory clinic cancellations, there weren't any. It all started about 6 years ago after a cold, had chronic cough for 4 years and then it was replaced with breathlessness which I've had for 2 years or so

Intro & 2-Year Journey
Hi everyone. I am a new in this community group. Just want to say "Hi" and share a little experience about how important to stay up-to-date about your condition and knowledge before heading to doctor office. This can make sure that you ask the right question and hit the target. I was having nasal allergy

Pre Scleroderma Confusion
After alot of back and forth I have recently been told I am "pre-scleroderma" whatever that means. The rheumatologist wasn't exactly clear about any of it and the reading I have done is just confusing me more and more. Can anyone spell it out simply for me please... I originally went to the doctor with

Discharged from hospital after 2.5 weeks 3 days in Intensive care.
I'm new to this forum. I thought I would join after I have just been discharged last night from a pretty traumatic hospital admission. I have been asthmatic since age of 13 but have had several years where it had disappeared. Just before Easter my husband had a flu type illness and he really was very

Hyperthyroidism and Asthma
Last night, I seem to have a fairly severe asthma attack which has progressed into this morning. My asthma means I cough a lot and have a constant tickle ion my throat.
