Hi all can anyone tell me is there an alternative to Salbutamol(blue, ventolin)as a reliever inhaler?
I'm asking as having been discharged from hospital yesterday during my stay suffered from feeling my heart racing I reported it to the nurses and my heart rate at times was 130 at its highest also very shaky hands!

Forstair 100/6mcg 120 dose. First, try it with One Dose Twice eaach day - One morning and One before bedtime. If you do not receive an instant relief, take Two doses. During the day use the Ventolin and as many puffs until you relief.
There are a few (bricanyl mentioned above I think is probably the next most commonly prescribed) although you'd need someone qualified to explain what the difference in the active ingredients is.
It is also increasingly common to see combination inhalers prescribed such as Symbicort or Seretide. These contain a preventer & also long-lasting reliever, although in some cases I think it's a variant of salbutamol.
It's probably best to chat to your GP or nurse about alternatives & explain the issues you're having.
Yes you need to phone the GP or nurse and ask for advice. Good luck xxx
