RLS after hip surgery
I have been on this site for a long time. I recently had hip replacement surgery and have had a severe increase in my RLS. The opiates that I take (methadone 10mg po every 8 hours and up to 20mg oxycodone po per day for breakthrough RLS) used to work wonderfully, but since I have this hip replacement

Temgesic success
After 20 years of nightly hell, my painful, super-destructive RLS has been relieved by Temgesic/Buphrenporphine. I posted a few months ago how my GP (physician) was willing but my neurologist refused to authorise. I contacted a private neurologist, who agreed to prescribe ... and the drug worked! Wow

Does it really get better after Pramipexole?
Hello Everyone. My husband experiences RLS, since he was 13. For many years he was untreated, but around the time of university it got bad -- so he went to a neurologist and was put on DA's. For the first couple years, he was on something he can't remember, but then got switched to Pramipexole. He estimates

Lu 177 update 1 month post infusion number 1
It has been over a month now since my wife and I traveled to England to get a dose of Lu 177. I thought I would give an update on what it did for me. That intense bone metastasis pain completely disappeared after about 2 weeks. It was rough going and I needed 24/7 opiates to get any relief. I weened

How long does it take for Zoladex to stop working?
I have stage 4 endo and had a 12cm endometrioma removed from my left ovary and my ovary sewn back together in November. I also had my right Fallopian tube removed at the same time. My consultant couldn’t remove my right ovary as it’s stuck to my bowel by adhesions, which I’m told are extensive and in

Good meds for bone pain w. metastatic PCa.
Need pain med advice. GP Doc finally put me on Percocet -- which is way too weak to do much good. Have bone mets for almost 2 years from femurs to neck, and sometimes excruciating pain. Starting Hospice soon as my MO discharged me. (Have Braca 2 gene, and last med -- Lynparza -- lost its effectiveness

End of my tether with RLS
Hi all! Here I am again, needing support and advice! I have such a long RLS history that it's difficult to put this in a nutshell, but this is my present situation: since moving house last year I had to change my GP which was unfortunate, as I had been lucky enough to have a GP who was both knowledgeable

RLS TREATMENT: Every day I read questions and answers on this forum and I would like to share with you some of my concerns
about the replies given to the many RLS sufferers who are struggling with their medication. All medications, if you read the leaflets, have side-effects and complications and at the end of the day, we have to weigh up which ones are going to be effective for each of us individually. 1.Dopamine Agonists

Pregabalin and opioid issues?
I take 225 mg Pregabalin for PLMD. I am now having a horrific Crohn's flare and need some pain relief badly. I just took one 15 mg Oxycontin ER which I hope helps but may not be strong enough. I have Tramadol HCL 100 mg tabs, Oxycodone HCL 5 mg tablets that didn't help my PLMD but may help with pain

Phantom Pain
I had never heard of phantom pain before my BKA (below knee amputation). But boy I know about it now! Talking to fellow amputees at the Limb Fitting Centre and Amputee Physio I seem to be suffering particularly badly compared to many. It's now nearly five months since the amputation and although I suffer

Weight Bearing on Prothesis
Some of you will know I had a BKA (below knee amputation) at the end of July. I picked up my prosthetic leg in mid-October but immediately hit problems with the wound reopening and blistering. After seven weeks without physio I started weekly sessions last week. One major problem I have is that I cannot

How do you experience pain?
Rather than simply asking "does anybody else experience this?", I thought it'd be more interesting to open the question up and ask everybody to describe how you experience pain if you're inclined. The reason I ask is I'm always flummoxed at the oncology office when they ask me about pain and want me

Article from John-Hopkins regaurding the effects of opiates on RLS
No question, I just wanted to post some of an article regaurding the effects of opiates on RLS (the full text can be found on John Hopkins university website. Dr. Willis (as in Willis-Ekbomb disease / RLS) in his description of this disease in 1685 also reported on the benefits of opiates for treating
