Waiting for ablation
I started in Afib June 2022 after covid, was diagnosed in August and put on Edoxaban and bisoprolol by my GP. In October I was seen by a specialist and put on Amiodarone (I've mentioned the side effects before.. thanks for the responses) and put on the waiting list for a cardioversion. That was done

Hi everyone M partner was diagnosed with primary hcc cancer in liver ( as well as cirrhosis ). They are saying that he can have ablation on the lesion or possibly resection but first they need to speak to the surgeon who is at another hosital as they dont do resection at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital

I have been diagnosed with mild diffuse atrophic gastritis and and prominent foveolar hyperplasia. Returned to GP and no further follow up. GP prescribed Gaviscon , symptoms settled but 11 months later are back. Does anyone know if it is necessary to have follow up gastroscopies. I have had PA

Covid
hi all, I have been diagnosed with tumid lupus and am currently being investigated for SLE (DR said 99.9% I have it as showing all symptoms etc). I have just tested positive for covid today. Has anyone got any advise? I’ve never had covid, let alone Covid with lupus and I’m terrified this is going

My turn to go to A&E
Well what a day i had yesterday, at about 4am i woke up in a right state as couldn't breathe. It took quite a while for me t get back to sleep. When i woke up i didn't feel well at all. It was as much as i wanted to do just to get up and go to the loo before coming downstairs to get myself a cup of tea

Post-Covid lung issues - what to expect?
Hi all, I had Covid in mid November and have been sick ever since, particularly (and perhaps only) breathlessness and fatigue. I was first diagnosed with asthma, but the meds only seemed to stave off a worse episode of breathlessness. So I went back to the docs and insisted on being seen, as I was

Afib caused by low heart rate? Ectopics when exercising.
Good morning all,I've had some rather interesting observations over the last few weeks that I would like to share. As background, I had an ablation in July which helped me reduce my Flecainide dose from 2x100 to 2x50mg per day and reduced my Afib episodes to about once per week. My resting heart rate

PSA Test
Hello everybody Where can I find good information about the readings on PSA tests. As I have posted earlier, my husband had the prostate removed, developed a rezidiv after 5 years, was treated with Proton (based on Hydrogen) radiation in Heidelberg January this year. PSA went down from 0,8 to 0,3.

Cough lozenges
I’ve got a tickly cough and want to suck a lozenge in the hope it will sooth it. I’ve got some Wilko lozenges that are Amylmetacresol. Does anyone know if they are ok to use with Warfarin and Bisoprolol - and of course Afib ! I can’t find this ingredient listed in drug interaction websites so I’m guessing

cortisol blood test
I’m due a GP blood test at 8:35am today. Can I have a decaf coffee before??? It’s a waste of time test I think as my saliva test showed the only normal one was the morning but that private test wasn’t good enough! Also my DHEA of less than 10 was completely sidetracked by GP. Very little hope this

Cardiovascular issues
Anybody out there with extra-cranial GCA / LVV, have any cardiovascular issues? I was having some shortness of breath, sleepiness & lightheadedness. I'm in the middle of testing for that, but a CAT scan showed I have a dilated aortic root and pericardial effusion. Those explained my symptoms, but neither

First ever phlebitis diagnosis...a few questions
6 days ago, I had a tenderness to the side of my right calf. This has got better, but I have a different red patch, which is very tender, and you can see a line going round from the patch (which is just above my inner ankle) to the top of my foot. It's very painful to walk. So I got an urgent appt

PSA 9 , age 66 , is there an alternative to biopsy ?
My friend’s PSA went from 5 to 9 in 8 months . He asked me if there is an alternative to biopsy . I told him that there may be something new since I last had a biopsy in 2009.

Taking Rivaroxaban to prevent DVT.
I'm on Rivarixaban 10 mg. and Pitavastatin 2 mg. I feel very ok with Rivaroxaban. I don't to check the blood. I had Acute Pulmonary Embolism 4 years ago, and have to have this NOACs lifetime after D-dimer was very high again 2 years ago. Rivaroxaban doesn't cause side effects.

Pain below right ribcage
I have had multiple CT scans and MRIs and none of them show cirrhosis, but they show fatty liver. I've had a burning pain below my right rib cage for over a month...it hurts bad! My last liver enzyme tests were within range. I have been on a diet since this started and I've lost 18lbs, but still have

Decision making
I am having a hard time justifying doing anything about my Afib since I feel really good most of the time. Even in Afib I'm pretty good except for the worrying and checking of my heart rate every little bit. I have recently backed out of an RF ablation and a Cryo ablation for fear of a poor outcome
