Diagnosed with cirrhosis
Today I found out I have stage 4 fibrosis which is cirrhosis. I quit drinking over 10 years ago, I've had weight loss surgery and lost over 5 stone which as reduced my fatty liver to practically zero. I don't have hepatitis or autoimmune liver disease, yet I still have cirrhosis. I'm only 41. I'm feeling

Swapping Baricitinib for Tocilizumab
Hi All. Been having a bad time with flare and fatigue following Covid and although on Baricitinib 4 mgs and Pred 10 mgs daily I’ve not been good. I started a flare back in December and it seemed that in Feb after Covid the Baricitinib is much less effective, if it’s working at all. The rheumatologists

Hi I have Stage 4 fibrosis NASH and 2T diabetes. My readings are dropping below 5 regularly and I eat sweets to bring it back up. Tonight my reading was 3.2. Anyone else have the same problem?

Could I have cirrhosis?
I am 28 years old. I have spider angiomas on my chest and palmar erythema on my hand. I used antipsychotic and antidepressant drugs for a long time. I have sometimes taken flu meds and roaccutane along with these meds. My doctor said it's nothing to worry about. But high direct bilirubin worries me.

Fluid around liver post transplant
Hi, I'm 2 years post liver transplant, and I'm currently in hospital for a kidney infection. Thankfully they seem to have got this under control, even though my kidneys are only working around 43%. The worry is that a CT scan has shown up some fluid around my liver. Pre transplant I never suffered with

Cirrhosis/Sprionolactone/testosterone
I know. Bit of an odd one!!! Hi all! I’d just be interested to know if anyone has had any (male) hormone issues surrounding cirrhosis and/or the use of Spironolactone. Or perhaps it’s just me?! About a month before diagnosis, (I couldn’t see them because of my swollen belly), It felt like my testicles

Helpful article for those who love someone who is dying of alcoholic liver disease
Hello, everyone — This article might be helpful for anyone who is watching a loved one die from alcohol addiction disease, and it’s subsequent effect on the liver. It’s stunningly honest and frank, and faces head-on some issues that are difficult to talk about. I hope it might give support and a feeling

Rising Bilirubin
Good morning. I have stage 4 prostate cancer and since March, have been taking a drug called Zytiga (Abiraterone) which has been known to affect the liver. A recent blood test shows my Bilirubin to be 24umol/L when the normal range should be 0-20. A month ago, it was 19umol/L. I am therefore concerned

blood group and being listed
my partner is at the very early stage of transplant assessment and today our transplant co-ordinator has told him that based on his current bloods and his blood group (A) she expects that if he were to be listed for transplant it would be a wait of weeks rather than months. He is actually not hugely

Treatment for cirrhosis
Hi all, diagnosed with cirrhosis 2 years ago, caused by hep c. Been successfully treated for the virus. I’m having my 6 monthly checkup but all the doctor says is “how do yo feel”, your liver is stable , see you in 6 months! My question is, why have I not been prescribed any medication. I read on here

Can Methylprednisolone affect Ascites?
I am currently on 100mg spironolactone and 40mg furosemide daily to help my Ascites. Recently I hurt my back running and was prescribed a 4mg/day methylprednisolone dose pack to help with the injury. I began taking the steroid last Tuesday evening, and by Wednesday afternoon to my pleasure noticed
