Squamous Cell Stage II B Lung Cancer- Be Your Own Advocate
I don't know yet if I will need any follow up chemo or
radiotherapy
, or the outcome of my operation ie. did it spread to any lymph nodes (4 were removed!), as my post op appointment is 9th July 2019.

Bit of a rant (sorry!)
(I lost my central vision due to having proton beam
radiotherapy
for an occular melanoma about 3/4 years ago. I'm 27 now and forever grateful for the brilliant care I received going through that.)

Blood In urine side effect of SBRT?
Is blood in urine a side effect Of SBRT radiation therapy ? If yes, months later? Treatment was in Oct 2018. Just a few days ago had blood in urine and continued today intermittently with drops of blood then clear. Today will be day 3. Went to urgent care for urinalysis and no infection. Kinda freaked

Just getting started
We discussed different
radiotherapy
- LDR & HDR brachytherapy, external beam radiation alone, and Sterostatic Body Radiation Therapy [SBRT] - which they suggested might be a good course of treatment in my case.

Stage 4 NSCLC with metatasis to brain
As this is stage 4 it’s non treatable but they suggest
radiotherapy
to the whole brain And then immunotherapy to the lung. We have been told they have limited time. With the side effects of
radiotherapy
do these outweigh the extra time it offers?

Week 8 done - whoo hoo!
Second attempt I had to give up as a course of
radiotherapy
and running don’t go well together- apparently! This time I am going to make it! Ok it may take me 13 weeks rather than 9 but who’s counting!

Non-smoking fit lady with NSCLC
We're not sure what they're going to start her on, she can't have surgery nor
radiotherapy
post her PET CT results. I just want them to crack on and get her treated, if I could do it I would!! I'm sure you'll understand those sentiments. Wishing everyone all success in their treatment. Gary

Hello all
Then diagnosed with breast cancer, following surgery and
radiotherapy
my blood tests showed PBC. For years every time I had a blood test the raised enzymes where queried but never followed up. Now at the age of 76 ( a very young 76) I now know why I’m always so tired and my eyes are so sore.

Taking the win...
Well after a weekend of anxiety and high emotional strain, dad saw his oncologist and three months post ADT and radiation treatment his PSA is down to 0.04 from 1.4. This is a win yeah ? Some breathing space anyway...

Men with prostate cancer offered hope by 'search and destroy' treatment
The technique - called prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)
radiotherapy
- has been dubbed a “search and destroy” method of treatment. It uses radioactive isotope, which binds to a protein on the surface of malignant cells, attacking them without damaging surrounding tissues.

Big pressure to have
radiotherapy
but I asked for a second opinion and then declined. I've been tamoxifen since January but my legs have turned purple and mottled. Also, my body feels soo cold all the time even when the weather is good. I don't know if I can continue with this medication

So many unknowns...contradictive answers...i wish i knew how long this journey has left....
Within a couple of days he had more
radiotherapy
. My dad has also been told it doesn't go beyond the knees or elbows or the brain. I know this is rare but it does happen doesn't it?. He is being started on another hormone treatment next week.

Another D-Day commemoration - a story of hope
He subsequently had surgery to remove one lung and then later
radiotherapy
to mop up any possible bits. At surgery they found no living cancer tissue. And he has survived the big C for 25 years - albeit with another brush 2 years ago.

Week 8 & hit the wall
So I got to week 8 which I am pretty proud of since I was having
radiotherapy
in March but I seem to have hit a wall & whilst I made the 25 minutes in week 7 I have only managed the 28 minutes in week 8 - once & that was hard.

ADT and PSA levels
How will we know if the
radiotherapy
has worked (5 days a week for 7 weeks)? His urologist had told him to get a PSA test every 3 months and a PET every 6. Thanks in anticipation. Maria
