Local therapy in patients with newly diagnosed oligometastatic prostate cancer
New meta-analysis below. My radical prostatectomy of 12 years ago would not have occurred if there were metastases. Nowadays, there seems to be an increasing view that debulking has benefit. Getting back to normal after treatment
Has anyone got any tips for getting back to normal once treatment is over? Specifically my nails are very "splitty" and I would like to be growing them longer and my bowels are still a bit loose. I have a couple of infections with resultant course of antibiotics, and I've been drinking Actimel to try

Radiation as a first-line treatment
I was diagnosed with Gleason 3+4 PCa in 2007. The two options that were recommended to me were robotic assisted radical prostatectomy or radiation. The surgeon that I consulted did not leave me with a feeling of confidence, and I also consulted with a radiation oncologist who recommended IMRT. I went

Milk Thistle & other herbals for Hep B
Hi! My name is Brenda & I've had HEP B for 25 years. I knew I had to do something to help myself. I researched the problem and found that the herb, milk thistle, was helpful in combating this problem. Also, while studying my situation, I also found that burdock root, artichoke leaves, and dandelion

Ferritin test results skewed, b12 not resolved or something else?
First time here... first time posting about my health online. I'll try to keep this short. 5 months ago I started experiencing numbness in foot and tingling in hands and feet. Blood test showed B12 was 221 - within the normal range but I started taking the sublingual methyl-b12, 5000mcg daily. I also

Non-PCa Prescription Drugs: Statins
[1] Statins are arguably the easiest prescription drug to get hold of in the U.S. IMO they are heavily over-prescribed, based on a simplistic out-of-date view of cholesterol & its role in CVD. On the other hand, as someone with PCa, I'm a big fan of statins. I have mentioned before that: i) cholesterol

Memory Loss and Vitamin B
A surprisingly common source of memory loss symptoms is a Vitamin B-12 deficiency. Vitamin B-12 intake is necessary for healthy brain function, and also maintaining intact myelin sheaths (the protective covering around nerves.) Symptoms of Vitamin B-12 deficiency include: - memory loss and dementia symptoms

Non-PCa Prescription Drugs: Celebrex
Shortly before Dr. John Vane, the Nobel Prize winner, whose work contributed to the development of the COX-2 inhibitor drugs, died in 2004, he might have become aware that experts were predicting the demise of that entire class of drugs, following the withdrawl of Vioxx from the Market a few weeks earlier

I am new to MBC
I am a 20 year survivor of DCIS stage 0 (1996). I had a total radical mastectomy and 19 lymph nodes removed. I had a recurrence of breast cancer in March 2016 (8 mos. ago) and was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with mets to the bones. My attitude is great and my prognosis is good.
