Reverse T3, stress and temperature
hello. I am one of a few outliers here, not hashi, but some classic low thyroid symptoms eg loss of eyebrows, leg hair, and in bloods, poor converter and not high t3, and for me most telling, low temperature and heart rate. (i am not posting results today) People have suggested it is central hypothyroidism

Headaches and nightmares on T3 monotherapy
Hi, does anyone else get headaches and nightmares on T3 monotherapy? I have read the side effects leaflet and it states that 'headache' and 'insomnia' are two of the side effects; since I have been on T3 only I often wake up in the night and have a very light sleep compared to what I am used to, then

PLMD medication
Hello I just joined because i was recently diagnosed with PLMD. The doctors don't really seem very informed about this condition. My ferritin level was fine around 200 so I decided to not supplement that even though the hospital advised me to. I then went onto take Pramipexole (didn't help) for

GP Coming - what to ask
having my annual review tomorrow and GP is coming to see me. Looking at all my past results I wonder, with them being up and down constantly, whether I am one of those whereby Levo no longer works for me and might be keeping me ill. Diagnosed back in 2005 and it's too far back to remember how I was

T4 keeps dipping and Endo says levels are still “good” (but I feel exhausted)
Hi all, I used to be on: -150mg of Levo And - 1.5 grains of ERFA NDT which was very suitable for years. My T4 would usually come out in between 18 to 20 pmol/L (range is 9.0 to 23.0 pmol/L), and my T3 whilst on the upper end of acceptable, would come out in between 4.6 and 6.5 pmol/L (range is

could Helvella or any other knowledgeable person please help me explain why TSH is o.k to be low when being treated please.
please help me with this wretched problem we have with doctors and medical specialists regarding low TSH. I am having some help from a medical herbalist who, on seeing my thyroid blood test results, has got quite stroppy and insisting my TSH should be higher , and I should lower my thyroid medication

T3 toxicity
Hi, I wonder if anyone could tell me whether it’s possible for T3 to simply ‘not agree’ with me? I’ve posted here before and got lots of great advice. My numbers previously showed me mid range through all the thyroid numbers but not converting well to T3. I was advised to take selenium and zinc

Has anyone had improved thyroid labs or reduced their thyroid medication, after optimising their ferritin, B12, folate, or vitamin D?
I'm currently on a bit of a mission to try and get my ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D to optimal levels. I'd love to hear anyone's stories or experiences of getting these nutrients up, and then finding their TSH, T4 and T3 levels improve and/or they have to reduce their thyroid medication. It would

Is lactose intolerance and soya sensitivity affecting absorption of T4?
SlowDragon If I have a lactose intolerance and sensitivity to soya, could this be affecting my T4 absorption or conversion to T3? If so, would liquid thyroxine help or do I need T3 added? I recall reading a post regarding this from you but I am unsure where it is now. I avoid lactose and soya but

Crash after Covid?
I’m really struggling to balance my body back out after having Covid and so so puzzled. Not sure why this has happened or where to go with it next. Has anyone had a really bad crash after Covid? I’m diagnosed pernicious anaemia and hypothyroid Hashimotos. I had been in the same routine with supplements

Iron tablets
I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2021, and have been on iron tablets ever since, and my Gastroenterologist wrote to my GP and said I had iron deficiency anaemia and will be on iron tablets for life. He also asked for me to have blood tests done every 6 months, which includes full iron profile.

Levothyroxine dosage and weight
Am I right that the average recommended dose of Levothyroxine is 1.6mcg per kg patient weight? It seems to me that many people on here are on very low doses. Does that mean that quite a few patients are being undertreated? I'm 68.5kg so my dose should be around 110mcg daily. I might need slightly higher

Has this happened to anyone else?
I was having heart palpitations and chest pain for few days. 111 sent me to hosp I had blood tests, urine test, ECG, chest x ray, blood pressure and oxygen done 4 times. All results came up clear so they then put it down to the endometriosis might be badly inflammed and causing pains and strains elsewhere

DEXA and Leaky Bowels
Two questions for my knowledgeable chums. I was diagnosed in November 2023 and after a battle with my GP managed to get a DEXA scan in early April. Results are that this 75 year old has the typical bone density profile of a 30 year old. Yay! Is it reasonable to push for another scan after 6 months
