Pleural effusion with Stage 4 NSCLC
My 70 year old mom has Stage 4 NSCLC with mets to spine and lymph nodes. If she has a pleural effusion and had 130 cc’s of fluid removed today, does that necessarily mean it’s a malignant pleural effusion? I know we have to wait for them to test the fluid, but is it possible that there won’t be cancer

Altitude Changes
My COPD has worsened since I was hospitalized for 6 days with influenza this past Feb. Use oxygen off and on now. We live on a town that is about 4200'. We went to the coast for a couple of days and didn't use oxygen. Came back home and breathing worsened. We then visited family for a week at about 2700

Has anyone seen the site online regarding APS and there are all types off information given by doctors etc.
I came across this site which covered APS and the top doctors that was involved with this site. One of the topics that was discussed was the use of blood thinners (only 2 of them was mentioned), Heprin and Wafarin. NO riveroxoban, no Fragmin, and what scared me the most was the fact that the Doctors

Side effects - temporary?
Hi everyone, Hope someone can advise.... tiotropium is causing tingling in my fingers and toes, should I continue taking it - with the hope it’s only temporary - or stop taking? Also does anyone know of an alternative to this drug which is in Spiriva and Baltus. Thank you Dxx

Tramadol and Rivaroxaban
Does anyone know if it’s safe to take tramadol when on rivaroxaban? I was prescribed tramadol after my first hip replacement but not sure if I was on warfarin at the time.

New to rivaroxaban feel lousy
Was diagnosed with a PE on Monday and the hospital put me straight away on Rivaroxban. They mentioned how they were trialling antidotes. But I feel lousy on this drug. Feel very faint and weak, I will be going to my GP on Monday to switch to warfarin as I never felt like this whilst on warfarin after

End of Trial
I had been on the LOGS trial for recurrent low grade serous cancer for the past 12 months. It has been keeping the cancer mostly stable but not without some complications. The medication had been having an adverse effect on my heart output. I had been through two dose reductions but sadly my heart function

For Cas and BLF friends 🧚♀️🌈
Let’s enjoy a day with a view 🌷💕 Those pottery rabbits are shiny little guards!!😃 Aria sits behind them at night thinking they are in her way I think. The lawn in front of the block of flats is beautiful! Makes me think Wimbledon isn’t so far ahead. I am glad I have a ground floor flat so I can

Pulmonary Embolisms and HRT
I was diagnosed with multiple bilateral PE 4 weeks ago and I am currently taking Wafarin but my INR is still up and down, which we are working on. However the thing that is really stressing me out is I have been told to stop my HRT. I know I should be grateful I am alive and well, but I am dreading

Pulse o2 levels continues low
I have had bronchitis and the flu since 22 Feb I’m sure flu has probably cleared up as I don’t have any fever now. But can’t get rid of this bronchitis and relentless cough that sound like I’m coughing up one or both lungs. I have seen a pulmonologist last week and I did fine on my pulmonary function

Lung volume reduction - what are your thoughts?
Hi guys, We’re updating our information about lung volume reduction as a treatment for emphysema. We know people have a lot of questions about the surgery, and about newer options like valves that are being researched. If you’ve had this procedure, would you be willing to have a read through and tell

If you want to post about his passing, please do so. Yes, Neal and I have one son and he is very aware
