I have changed from warfarin to Russians this week. I am feeling really anxious. My heart seems to be beating faster. Has anyone else experienced this?

Good news! LFT
I had my lung function test yesterday. No significant change My condition has not got any worse. Also tested my haemoglobin and it's normal. Would celebrate but all that deep breathing, breath holding and puffing out leaves me wiped out. However I don't care if I'm wrecked for a day or three. I'm

Feeling Daring
I have been feeling so good and the weather has been just perfect for my lungs. I have been able to sit without oxygen when I’m in my home lounging around. My oxygen has stayed around 97% and goes no lower than 93. I have been on oxygen for eight years. This improvement has me excited. I have a new

Anyone with Very Severe COPD had a CT Guided Biopsy?
Hi folks, Not posted for a while but I thought I might ask if any of you with Very Severe COPD has had a CT Guided Biopsy. During a routine scan they picked up on some nodules in the top right Lung Lobe, sent me for a follow up PET scan and they all showed intense take up. At a follow up appointment

Anything else besides asthma?
When I get sick, I seem to breathe better. I was told by my allergist I have moderate asthma and lung restriction disease. I also had a high allergic reaction to dust. But the pulmonologist saw my pulmonary function tests and CT scan and said my lungs were clear. He said if anything I had mild asthm

medical marijuana and COPD
I read an article on line that said medical marijuana reduces inflammation and provides better sleep. I am not to sure whether it was CBD (does not cause a high) or HTC ( causes a high. Does anyone have evidence or have tried it for your COPD?

NEW FLU VACCINE
I am aware that for many years "experts" have said that a flu injection can affect people who have had strokes, and are on Warfarin. Now I understand, that the new flu vaccine for this year for the "over 65's" may react adversely with Warfarin. It apparently contains different enzymes etc. which cause

Hi, I have had asthma since childhood (now 45) and a productive cough for 6 years. This summer I had a chest infection which I had trouble getting rid of followed by some issues with fungus in my sputum (which seems to have gone now as last sputum gets was clear). Currently waiting for appointment at

How long does nerve pain last?
I had my right upper lobe removed (vats) 5 months ago and finished chemo in 7 weeks ago. I'm beginning to think the nerve pain will never go away. Tried Gabapentin unsuccessfully and then Lyrica. After about 3 months of Lyrica, which really helped, I had to stop due to side effects. The nerve pain

Vehicle Fumes and COPD
Stuck in gridlocked traffic for 2 hours on Thursday morning. Felt particularly unwell after lunch and all of the following day. Headache which couldn't be shifted with painkillers, and nausea. Could this be the effect of carbon monoxide on my lungs? I was diagnosed with COPD in 2007 and had Lung Volume

Thank you everyone!
So a little update again! What a fortnight it’s been from having chest pains, to querying emphysema, to spirometry tests to a phone call just now from the consultant I seen privately. He rang to tell me he’s had the ct reviewed by a chest radiologist and there is no emphysema! It’s been a huge kick up

Brompton Hospital referral times
Basically, as above. I've been referred to the Brompton by my Consultant with a view to possible Lung Volume Reduction. This was around mid May and I've yet to hear anything. I have tried to call the Brompton but it just rings out. I've completed a Pulmonary Rehab course, so there wouldn't be a delay

Smoking. !!!
I am writing as I am wondering if there's something seriously wrong with me or is it a personal issue. I am still a smoker with emphysema and two weeks ago I went to the Dr, not my usual one at the practice, and when I asked her for Zyban which I have used before and it made me stop smoking, she said

Do I Need OXYGEN
After being on oxygen for almost 4 years and completing a PFT test was told I did not need oxygen any more. I was shocked because I was told that I would be on oxygen for the rest of my life along with meds.Spirometry shows a reduced FEV!/FVC and FEV1 with normal FVC. Normal lung volume with a normal
