Worried Mom thinking the worst
His
PTH
is high. The nephrologist says he has secondary Hyperparathyroidism but given his high calcium, I don’t think that’s true. He’s having a VCUG on Monday. He’s not circumcised so this will be extra tough. There is really low suspicion of reflux since imaging showed no hydronephrosis.

Question about Vitamin D and Parathyroid hormone and how it relates to ckd
Another question is that
PTH
is never included in my kidney test results. Should I be having this test done since my 25(OH)D is so low? Thank you for any reply this would help me greatly.

PTH Intact - Hemodialysis
My
PTH
Intact started out running around 400 and then for a year around 600. Lately it has gone crazy to around 1200. Has anyone else had these kind of fluctuations? Has anyone had
PTH
as high as 1200?

Some good news
My GFR went from 23 to 28, Creatinine went from 1.96 to 1.65, BUN went from 37 to 29, and
PTH
went from 1.94 to 1.65. I see the doctor on Monday and have tons of questions for him. Not looking for miracles but just hoping I can stabilize things.

Pseudogout
I had routine blood labs a month ago and my parathyroid hormone was elevated. I was prescribed Calcitriol .25mg everyday. Recieved a call from nephrology to cut back on the Calcitriol to 3 days a week because the meds made my calcium level spike. Sometime during this situation I acquired a severe pain

Recent blood results (T3 only)
This is rubbish it clearly states in parathyroid illnesses that it is absolutely NOT required to have both
PTH
and calcium to be high to diagnose hyperparathyroidism in some 20% of patients the calcium will be high and the parathyroid hormone will be normal or the
PTH
will be high with a normal calcium

Help with test results.
Hi, I now have my results from blood tests. having had to fight tooth and nail I'm not sure if they have done all I needed. No mention of T3 or T4 or do they come under something else. Currently on levo 100mg and calciferol 800iu. I need help to understand what this all means. Pathology Investigations

APC and Hyperparathyroidism
Apparently, elevated
PTH
significantly increases the possibility of developing ‘fatal’ prostate cancer (as the articles refer to it, presumably meaning metastatic PC). This is where I get hopelessly confused.

Are My Vit D Levels Low Due to Parathyroid? Further Questions
My parathyroid levels were 9.9pmol/L in december 2019. Vit D was v low at 20 nmol/L. Calcium within normal range. Thyroid Perox Antibodies were 32.4 U/mL. Repeat bloods last week showed parathyroid hormone as 9.7 (norm is 1.6 - 7.5), Vit D - 53, Calcium 2.42 mmol/L (norm is 2.20 - 2.60). So parathyroid

Are My Vit D Levels Low Due to Parathyroid?
I'm female and in my mid 50s based in the UK. My calcium levels have been gradually increasing over the years but still within the 'normal' range (2.20 - 2.60) at 2.47mmol/L . My Vitamin D levels were 20 nmol/L ( less than 25 is deemed deficient) and parathyroid hormone was 7.7 pmol/L (norm = 1.60 -

Parathyroids overactive
Any raised
PTH
should be investigated further, unfortunately she is trying to find any raised calcium in the urine she has only found what she considers to be normal levels in the blood.

Also my parathyroid hormone is raised to
PTH
