These are the essentials of postpartum
psychosis
(PP), as it happened to me. Suffice it to say that after some fantastic psychiatric care and steadfast support from my husband and wider family, I got better.

What messages would your message(s) be to midwives about PPP? How did they help you? How did they not?
Hello all, I'm a PPP survivour and I'm writing an article for a magazine for midwives here in Australia to help raise awareness of PPP and help promote my book, Day Six. The editor has asked me to talk about what helped and what didn't help when it came to my interaction with midwives. I want as many

thyroid conditions and psychosis
No symptoms of
psychosis
since. I have always thought that the
psychosis
was caused by my thyroid condition but there was a lot of cross-over with PND and PP and was wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with a thyroid condition?

Is it possible to have PP for 5 years?
Hi everyone. I've been suffering with PP for 5 years. I feel miserable on a daily basis. My family doesn't understand. Most importantly my psychiatrist have not prescribed me anything that has help significantly. I'm stuck & don't know what to do. If anyone has any advice to offer, I'm open ears at this

Subject: Weight loss and Olanzapine! So how long did it take for you to lose your weight gain caused by Olanzapine?
And this time I took 5mg, then 2.5mg of Olanzapine as a preventative, after having had postpartum
psychosis
with my 1st born and having been sectioned. This time has been smooth sailing which is great. But I've gone from size 10 to a big size 14 which is pretty miserable.

I'm back (briefly), and I'm sorry.
It's no excuse, but to give you a bit of context my
psychosis
was making me see the world in a VERY distorted way. I didn't trust anyone, including my own thoughts. Health wise I'm physically still a bit unstable, but well enough to come home. I lost a lot of blood, so just feeling weak really.

I have decided to go into a hospital/burn out center to try and get myself into a healthier routine. This means that my son has to be with
I am sleeping with the help of a drug for
psychosis
which made me really unhappy to take because I don't suffer from
psychosis
but depression and anxiety. It works though and I have been sleeping for almost 2 months through. I really hate taking all this medication but I am feeling much better.

One year on I am wondering: where did my psychosis come from?
But it is now officially one year since I had an episode of
psychosis
. As such, I have ben thinking about it more frequently in the last few weeks. My thoughts are never really far away from what happened to me. But I have been thinking about my mental health a lot more, in the recent weeks.

Starting breastfeeding again after olanzapine?
Hello, I was wondering whether anyone has been successful in reinstating breastfeeding after taking olanzapine? I had my first child 6 weeks ago and was diagnosed with PPP shortly after coming home from the hospital. I had to go to a Mother and Baby Unit for a month and was put on medication which meant

New Book - Personal Account of PP & Postpartum Depression
I experienced postpartum
psychosis
and postpartum depression after the births of both of my children in 2003 & 2006. Both times my PP was severe enough to require hospitalization. I had no prior history of mental illness, and in fact had worked as a psychiatric social worker in the past.

New Job and Feeling Out of Place and Depressed Already.
I worry that a lot of people will think that my
psychosis
was drug induced, when it was unexpected and unexplainable. The
psychosis
has left me unable to exert myself too much, being on antipsychotics.

15 year old son just diagnosed with epilepsy and now has psychosis
Hi there has this happened to anyone else? I'm really worried at the moment, he has been in hospital for 6 weeks and now they want to move him to an adolescent psychiatric unit. I'm new to all this so would love some words of wisdom Thanks

My PP story, part 3
And then there is the way he ignored my pleas not to close my daughter's case before I had returned to the UK and proved I had had a
psychosis
and did not suffer from a personality disorder.

My second child is nearly due so it's time to reflect on my PP and hope it doesn't happen again.
For the next week I gradually came back to reality with a few hangovers of the
psychosis
including a propensity to see connections between things that weren’t really there. I mainly focused on the other patients and helping them.

Mental health issues and steroids revisited: Still wondering about the thyroid connection?
She was put on steroids to combat positive DS DNA antibodies and vasculitis but suffered
psychosis
and was admitted to hospital. We eventually got a diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis when MNDA receptor antibodies tested positive.
