PSA is back
I was 51 yr old diagnosed with Prostate cancer state 1 with a
PSA
4.7. Gleasons mixed of 3+3's and 3+4's.I had robotic prostatectomy.
Psa
was undetectable until January 2023 and slowly creeped back up to .19 now in April 2024 . Just started Hormonal Therapy with radiation scheduled for August.

Cause for concern?
Ignorant/lazy docs only take notice of the
PSA
, when it is widely known that at low
PSA
PSADT is equally, if not more an important factor, for estimating the probability of a positive PSMA PET/CT detection. With your PSADT of 5 months.....................

Anemia on Abiraterone + Prednisone + Lupron
In November my
PSA
was 0.8. In the first three months it went down to 0.26. Yesterday, my
PSA
was 0.16. But my hemoglobin and hematocrit became low at 11.6 and 36% respectively. Can Zytiga cause anemia?

Lupron unjection not reducing PSA
I was then put on Orgovyx, that did not stop
psa
from rising. I was then put on monthly injections of lupron, the
psa
was 25. Lupron dropped the
psa
to 10. I have been on lupron for 4 monthly injections. My
PSA
keeps rising, last
psa
test was 28 last month, guess I'm castrate resistant now.

Rise in psa
Psa
has been undetectable for 12 months but just rose to 0.03. Do I need to wait until it rises to 2.0 as I've seen advice before or is there a more proactive approach? Thanks.

PSA went up after three treatments of chemotherapy
before the first treatment
PSA
was 89. after the first treatment
PSA
was 73.31.. after the second treatment
PSA
was 52.82. after the third treatment,
PSA
was 73.31.. does it make sense to take another chemotherapy treatment since the
PSA
has risen after the 3rd treatment?

Rising PSA
I'm Poollover, Just got the results of a blood test and my
PSA
went up from 0.67 to 0.77. I'm on Orgovyx and Zytiga. I'm 86 years old. How concerned should I be? 8 months ago it was about 12. That was before medication. Also slightly anemic. What are my options? Terry

Uh... Oh... New Phase Awaits?
Worked well so was able to stop...BUT NOW Starting to look like castrate resistance: 9/14/23
PSA
= 0.26 Total T = 41 11/28/23
PSA
= 1.2 Total T = 51 1/15/24
PSA
= 1.7 Total T = 64 3/18/24
PSA
= 2.6 Total T = 56 We are going to do 1 more in 2 months. Then ? Am I castrate resistant?

Time to PSA Nadir is related to progression-free-survival
Initiation of any secondary hormone treatment for rising
PSA
also was considered as a progression event."[/i] What is interesting and unexpected is the "Third Phase" (where the Time to
PSA
Nadir is greater than 17 months).

My own PSA values over time: 70% drop in just 3 months on Dutasteride and no ADT
Here are my own
PSA
values versus time plot. You can see there is an exponential rise in
PSA
starting at around 6/1/23, and doubling from
PSA
= 5 to 10 in about 8 months. My MRI at
PSA
= 10 showed a T3a tumor about 1.3 cm long (PIRADS 5).

Cancer returned.
Back in 2006 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer with a
PSA
of 17, treatment was 20 sessions of radiotherapy followed by Zoladex implant every 3 months for 3 years, my
PSA
then dropped to 0.10. There it remained until 2011 when it went up to 0.40.

PSA back up after radiation
After 4 .5 weeks of radiation
PSA
dropped from 6.6 to 3.46 but on 6/3 went up to 5.88. I have MO appt 6/11 and he has previously indicated that docetaxel could be the next step. Following last
PSA
increase switched from Zytiga to Xtandi.

PSA uptick
His
PSA
has been at/near undetected (<0.01-0.02) for several years, but recently there has been an uptick to 0.08 (similar on a recheck, so not lab error). Obviously still low-level, but concerning signal. Other labs are stable and bone scan a few months ago was stable.
