Reducing Levothyroxine impacting on dose of nortriptyline. Withdrawal symptoms awful
This is my second reduction of levo and its affecting the dose of the nortriptyline. As the levo dose reduces so does the nortriptyline. It's giving me withdrawal type symptoms. Hot flushes chills muscle twitches tingle hands and uneasy tummy feeling. A normal reduction of levo without the ith med has

Psychiatrist tomorrow
I saw her for the first time 6 weeks ago. I've been booked for a course of "Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy" starting in October, but this is just a review. I have good days and bad days, I'm having a major problem with procrastination over housework etc. I'm also having major pain problems,

Had to reduce my levo as gone hyper. Does the reduction affect Lyrica and Nortriptyline. Either make them stronger or weaker? Anxious!!!
Blood tests showed I had gone hyper so reduced levo from 125mcgs to100mcgs almost 6 weeks ago. Still feeling same. No improvement. Am wondering in theory if levo is sometimes used to enhance the effects of Nortriptyline can reducing the levo be sort of the same as cutting down the Nortriptyline (reverse

What can I use for pain relief when everything seems to have failed?
Although I have only had fibro for a short time I'm finding the pain levels truly unpleasant some days. I am sure it is worse right now because I have the children home; hoping it will get easier when they are back at school and college. Right now I only take Nortriptyline at night and paracetamol when

I was confirmed as having fibromyalgia last night. I have had pain for years, my GP said its no wonder that Physio hasn't helped at all.
The pain is getting worse. I regularly take co-codamol and nortriptyline. I used to take TRAMADOL but have been told by the neurologist to stop taking these. Has anybody got any useful tips for a newbie to this condition.

Changed meds to include Ketamine but getting less relief now than before.
Just over a month ago my Pain consultant changed my medication to include Ketamine alog with my Morphine, with the hope that I would be able to reduce the Morphine and eventually discard it alltogether. I started on 0.1ml (10mg) 3 times a day but he also advised to reduce the Morphine a little, but

When steroids worsen depression?
I have suffered from depression for most of my life, and am on long-term antidepressants, plus spells of short-term counselling. Since atypical PMR reared its ugly head about three months ago I've been on steroids - starting at prednisolone 15mg daily, down to 10mg and back to 12.5mg. As with

So many things that could cause the symptoms - I wish I knew which!
I am on long-term antidepressants. I was on venlafaxine, which produced severe sweating and stopped working. Reducing and stopping this can also produce sweating! I swapped over to nortriptyline (a tricyclic) as I was put on a low dose for pain anyway and in the past have responded better to tricyclics

Sweating, shakiness alongside PMR problems - steroids or other cause.
I'm 67 and have a long history of dysthymia / chronic depression with exacerbations, and also moderate essential tremor affecting my hands and head. I've had two very successful hip replacements and have arthritis in my spine. Four years ago I had PMR which settled on steroids. This year the pain

Tired and sad, but actual 'depression' easing
Yesterday I was on the PR stand for the Estuary Rat Club at the Sussex Country Fair. I had been quite apprehensive about this, but it went very well, although it wasn't easy with one person. Before I went I'd had an appalling night - went to bed early, but my pain meds kept me awake with severe itching

My first brush with Botox.
I had Botox for the first time yesterday, so it would be good to hear other peoples experiences. I'm getting some facial pain just now which is one of my on going health problems. The neurologist thinks the facial pain is Trigeminal Neuralgia and the Botox may have some effect on this as well as helping

Really frightening spell / NHS deterioration!
I have long-term depression and have been on a variety of antidepressants. I also have chronic pain problems. For that I was put on nortriptyline in a low dose, and have now changed over fully to that, as I had been getting more side-effects than good effects from my venlafaxine. A couple of weeks

Doctor much more helpful than gyni!
Hi all, thought I'd write an update after I left my gyni follow up appointment I was very confused and wrote blog about it all, but was told my doctor would have notes and recomendation for pill by the following week. So today two weeks later I got to speak to my doctor. She still hasn't received any

Amitriptyline versus nortriptyline?
I currently take Amitriptyline 30mg at night which is helping the pain 50% and helping me sleep at night. I wonder if it is just the drying effects which is making me urinate less which is in turn causing my bladder to be less irritated and helping my pudendal nerve, I am also having lots of private

One step forwards three steps back. What is the point?
Every day is pain and misery for me now. I am so lonely. I am isolated from my friends and family because my problems are just too complicated and out of the depth of anyone who isn't a mental health professional/chronic pain specialist. My days are filled with nothing, everything I used to enjoy
