Advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9 with lupron
They also recommended that he get genetic testing done on the prostate tissue from when he has a radical
prostatectomy
last year (in March 2017). They said if it is genetic then there may be a pill he can take to fix the malfunctioning gene. Has anyone had any experience with any of this?

Newly diagnosed with non-metastatic PCa
I decided to undergo a radical
prostatectomy
(RP). After I made this decision he mentioned a clinical trial I may qualify for. He discussed it with me briefly. It sparked interest, so he referred me to an oncologist. In addition, detailed information on the trial was sent to me.

Is localized treatment possible under the guidance of a medical oncologist who lives miles away from me?
Age 72, Gleason 9,
prostatectomy
in February 2018, 2 of 12 lymph nodes positive. PET scan this week in Nashville to determine treatment. I live 280 miles from my MO. Has anyone had experience with receiving local treatment under the guidance of a MO who lives hundreds of miles away?

So my Doctor and I settled on a radical (1999)
prostatectomy
, with NERVE SPARING, ha! After successful surgery, I did 6 weeks of intense radiation treatment. A year later the incontinence was driving me crazy. So we added an artificial urinary sphincter (2000).

EricE is on his way to surgery
Eric is scheduled to undergo a robotic radical
prostatectomy
this morning. He is not excited about the potential side effects. Especially since the Lupron has already caused impotence.

Proton Beam vs Rapid Arc Image Guided Radiation Therapy
Tomorrow I will complete 39 radiation treatments for post
prostatectomy
salvage radiation therapy, which was delivered by a Rapid Arc machine. A friend of mine is now considering how his post
prostatectomy
salvage radiation therapy will be delivered. He knows about my Rapid Arc IGRT treatments.

Rising PSA from .25 12/14/2017 to .47 3/14/2018; should I be alarmed? See my urologist 3/19 and what to know what questions to ask.
Previously had radical
prostatectomy
, 39 salvage radiation treatments, and now on ADT (wonderful Eligard).

Improved Oncological Outcomes With Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy
Additionally, men treated with
prostatectomy
reported fewer urinary complications. These results support ongoing efforts to define the role of
prostatectomy
in oligometastatic disease.

Salvage Radiation Therapy Question
I am in process of 39 radiation treatments following biochemical recurrence after
prostatectomy
. Had 24th treatment yesterday. Just had 25th today. Was told that my last 15 treatments would be “more concentrated.” Machine rotated only 2 times instead of 3.

Injection Therapy Experience
I am 9 months post-Radical
Prostatectomy
and BiMix injections work very well for me. ******************************************************************** Luckily, and with the fine dedication of some individuals, there is plenty of support and information in forums like these.

Prostatectomy for Stage 4
Hello - I wondered what the opinion of users was on the prospect of a
prostatectomy
for men who are newly diagnosed stage 4 (already metastasised)?

Ureter stent choice and procedure
I had a robotic radical
prostatectomy
followed by radiation. I chose not to start Lupron until my PSA began to double in any 12 month period. I began an intermittent Lupron program once my PSA hit 33. I stopped after 4 months and by November I had a prostate cancer tumor removed from my bladder.

What is meant when told that a met has been "resolved" after a mid-chemo CT scan?
I have had a
prostatectomy
in March 2014 and the tumor was given a Gleason score of 4+3. When my PSA rose to 0.91, I received radiation treatments in June 2015, causing my PSA to decrease to 0.63.
