Difficult decision before a robot assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy planned for March
The Urological surgeon said the team review recommended the lymph node be removed during
prostatectomy
. Given the 8 mm lung nodule was a false alarm I thought maybe the 6mm lymph node is also a false alarm.

Genistein potentiates the radiation effect on prostate carcinoma cells
In 2004, after my failed
prostatectomy
, I came across the Life Extension protocol for PCa (at that time). It included their Ultra Soy Extract. 5 caps provided a massive amount of genistein. LEF suggested taking this 4 times daily. I think that one bottle was $75 & I would need 4 for a month.

I had a proscectomy in 2019 and since I haven't been able to have intercourse with my wife and it's killing me I was 55 when I had the
prostatectomy
and now I'm 59 I've tried pumps I've tried try mix nothing seems to work and I can get some blood in my penis but never enough to get it hard.

Decided to have a robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy - update
Reasons for my decision: I made a decision based on my understanding, see below. Radiation - no effect on urinary leakage, sexual function initially preserved but wanes for most, limited options for salvage - if cancer recurs treatment is palliative/non curative, long term radiation damage to bladder

For those on Lupron experiencing fatigue…
I have been on intermittent Lupron for over ten years after biological reoccurrence after robotic
prostatectomy
. Fortunately it has worked well to keep my psa in check but fatigue and general loss of stamina has kept me from engaging in many physical activities I used to enjoy.

I could use some advice in Tennessee
I had pretty much decided in 2017 to immediately have the Davinci robotic assisted
prostatectomy
should Gleason score show aggressiveness. They have me schedule for surgery on 3/29. The Vanderbilt surgeon recommended Lymph Node Disection.

ART BCR Biochemical Recurrence post Radical Prostatectomy RP, Adjuvent Radiation Treatment, Benign Cells, usPSA Ultra Sensitive PSA
Some excerpts from a podcast covering many aspects of active surveillance, both post radical
prostatectomy
(RP) and adjuvant/ early salvage radiation (aRT / eSRT). There is an interesting breakdown of usPSA (ultra sensitive PSA) with predictive values for BCR.

53 yrs old, 3+4 Treatment Choice
Considering my age and hopeful longevity, I’m planning for the surgery (robotic
prostatectomy
) in another 6 weeks or so. I’ve not spoken with an oncologist.

ED after Prostatectomy
Hi Guys-I had radical
prostatectomy
back in 2014. At first the cancer did not seem aggressive but then it became so, so surgery was encouraged. I appear to be cancer free, which of course is great, but my ED has me down.

Artificial Urinary Sphincter? Finding a surgeon and understanding recovery?
I am at the point where, after my
prostatectomy
, salvage radiation and sling implant, my incontinence has gotten bad enough that I feel I need an Artificial Urinary Sphincter (AUS) I had the sling installed in January 2021. It worked for about a year and a half.

Questions about hormone therapy...
I just had a radical
prostatectomy
, including the removal of nerves. Post surgery pathology downgraded the two legions to a Gleason 5 and a Gleason 7, with no indication of any cancer touching the anterior wall.

He thinks that because I am otherwise very healthy and should live well into my 90s, my best option is robotic

, which he has done about 4500 times.

Determinants of PSA Response to Bipolar Androgen Therapy [BAT]
Responders were more likely to have had a radical
prostatectomy
as definitive therapy and were more likely to have been treated with an androgen receptor (AR) antagonist (enzalutamide or apalutamide) immediately prior to BAT (compared to abiraterone).
