Husband had 3-mo. blood work yesterday and I was checking for results on portal when I noticed MO had notation for 7/11 appointment: "Creatine (ISTAT) radiology to draw." Have no idea why it's there, seems like something to do with a scan, but she knows he can't tolerate scans and has refused them lately. I also don't know if this is in response to her seeing the blood test results earlier than I did...which indicated, sadly, that his PSA jumped from 1.09 to 6.92. Are xrays ever done for those who can't tolerate scans? I know this has to do with kidney function because when he had the original prostatectomy in 2014 he had a severe reaction to Toradol, went into acute kidney failure and spent 11 days in the hospital while they figured that out. Blood work shows creatinine still stable at .93. Office was closed yesterday and no open until Monday so if anyone has any ideas about this test I'd appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.

They routinely check creatinine before a CT scan to make sure your kidneys can handle the contrast agent.

But the Mo knows he can't tolerate any more scans so I don't know why she's got this posted for next visit on July 11. He's having edema in right calf/foot that can be caused by cardiac problems or PC. Don't see cardiologist until 1st wk in August. My poor guy just keeps having multiple issues that will probably increase due to rise in PSA. Thanks for reply.
