Hormone blood tests
I am thinking of getting a blood test for hormones but the ones I have found do not include progesterone, would this be an issue or does anyone know of a place offers this, preferably a finger-prick test. Medichecks only seem to test FSH, LS, Oestradiol and Prolactin. My breasts have become swollen

Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Prolactin
Evolution has given hormones promiscuous roles in the body. A particular hormone may be involved in a number of unrelated functions. Prolactin, as one might guess, is a hormone mostly associated with milk production, but it has various roles in the male body too. In addition, the prostate has prolactin

Prolactin and Prostate Cancer
Patrick mentioned prolactin. Dr. Strum says PCa uses prolaction as a back door to get around ADT. The problem is insurance companies do not have cabergoline in their formulary. Humana wants $400 a bottle. I bought some from an Indian pharmacy for $60 Gus https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28207138

Prostate Cancer & Hormones
I am about to begin a new series of posts, on hormones. One might expect the first to be on testosterone - or even estradiol - but I will begin with prolactin, since there is a new study. Look for: "Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Prolactin". Suggestions as to other hormones to cover would be welcomed

New test results...Advice needed
Hello again, It has been a few months since my last post and at that time my thyroid levels were looking good, after surgery to remove half my thyroid, but I was not feeling well. I just had my labs done again this week and I am a bit perplexed. So I am hoping that the HU members can shed some light

Advice for 17 year old daughter
My daughter had some tests carried out 2 years ago which showed she had a very high prolactin level - after having a normal MRI scan it was decided there was no sign of anything wrong with her pituitary gland, she was also told she had a borderline under active thyroid function which we have had checked

My latest results - do I need T3?
I apologize in advance for lengthy post but don’t want to miss anything important. I have Hashimoto and been on levothyroxine for last 4 years. Recently I increased my levothyroxine dose from 125mcg to 150mcg. Although increasing it was a nightmare, I have made it and am on 150mcg for last 3 months.

New Here and Think I'm Hypo, Have Long List of Bloods - Would Be Grateful for Thoughts
Hi, I've been lurking for a few days on here trying to get information as I have hypothyroid symptoms. I've found the site incredibly helpful already in trying to understand what is going on with me - now 52 and been to Docs over last 18months for various complaints which started with low libido. Thought

Please help! Thyroid/hormone balance
I've had health problems since summer 2011, after I got an infection on holiday in Greece. At the time, I was healthy and weighed 8st10lb. Within a month I had gained a stone and within another month I had gained another stone. Nothing in my life changed and over the years I have tried to lose the weight

Seeking your advice Re. test results
Hi All, The helpful folk over at Thyroid UK recommend that I cross-post here. Would really appreciate your feedback on my test results. Some background... I'm 38, female, BMI 31 and my health seems to be getting progressively worse. Up until September I was working in a senior/board level position, but
