My Dad's symptoms are worse
Is it possible that symptoms of Autoimmune encephalitis can get worse again even though it seems that the
prednisone
is controlling the seizures my Dad was having. My Dad's skin condition has deteriorated which the GP says is due to the
prednisone
.

Help I don’t understand
Also extreme fatigue and a red rash on my cheeks and trouble swallowing. My doctor gave me
prednisone
to treat because crp and esr were high. She also started me on plaquenil. Now before the medicine I had 2 positive Ana with nucleoar . She rechecked a couple days ago and my Ana was negative.

GCA question
I am happy to report I am feeling pretty good and down to 5 1/2 mg if
prednisone
. My question is, does anyone else with GCA get a pain like feeling in their head and a feeling that something is wrong or going to happen. The feeling only lasts several seconds but it is unnerving.

Battling Outbreaks
Am currently in an asthma flare and already dealing with an outbreak and I need to take
prednisone
which usually gives me an outbreak. Not sure weather I should hold off on the valtrex till done with the
prednisone
or start taking it to help try to curb it from being too bad.

Hip pain
I have taken
prednisone
for6years and am now on 4mg. Recently I have been getting a lot of pain in hips so wonder if it's worth increasing my dosage to 5mg for a while. I also have osteoarthritis so it could be that. In the past I have had good advice from the forum can you help now thank you.

General Headache Question
Question 1: If a GCA patient has a headache and they take extra
prednisone
(thinking it a flare) and the headache goes away, is that evidence that the headache was in fact inflammatory in nature?

PS to Periodontal Abscess and Prednisone
Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to my post about gum/tooth infections and
prednisone
. All the replies were helpful! I did manage to generate one last question. Did any of you who had tooth extractions go on to have dental implants?

Polymyalgia
My husband has had polymylgia for about 6 years and started on 15mg
prednisone
and has only ever got down to 8mg but then can't cope so is now on 13mg . Consultant wants him to get down to 5mg .He would have no quality of life and would be in pain too much .

Skin Cancer Issues
They are suggesting
Prednisone
which I am very hesitant to switch to. My father was a diabetic so I'm at higher risk and going on
Prednisone
will increase it as well and there are a lot of other side effects too that don't thrill me.
