Feeling unwell after reducing Prednisolone from 10 to 9mg
I was diagnosed with PMR in May and commenced 10mg Predisolone. After 6 days I felt amazing. I reduced this to 9 mg after 4 weeks as instructed but after 3days the pain was so intense I couldn’t cope. My rheumatologist advised going back to 10mg which I have done. After 3 days the pain is now controlled

still in pain.
Hi I am still supplementing my Prednisolone with Brufen and paracetamol. Pain in right jaw and head continues. I am so tired of being in pain. Next appointment with Rheumatologist is July 24. Spoke to my GP who is reluctant to change anything. On 40mg of Prednisolone and I am to reduce it to 30mg tomorrow

Progress on dental implant
Good morning everyone I had the implant yesterday, took an extra 2 milligrams of Prednisolone to deal with the stress of it all. Told the Dentist about my additional challenges with the AF and he was singularly unfazed. The appointment was for an hour and a half so I was delighted when he told me

I've been on Eligard and abiraterone+
prednisone
for slightly more than a year, out of a planned 2 years. I had 44 sessions of proton beam therapy ending 4/7/23. My PSA has been undetectable since early in my ADT regimen, and remained so as recently as 2 weeks ago.

AF being driven by prednisone for ulcerative colitis
After 2 days of 40 mg
prednisone
and 3 days of 30 mg pred, I went into afib yesterday. My usual flecainide 150 mg didn't stop it; nor adding the remainder by day's end. I don't want a cardioversion at this point. I'm awaiting my doctors' responses to MyChart queries.

Good morning fellow Lupies! I was hoping for some opinions please. I recently accepted a new 12 week temp job (with the possibility to go perm later) and was due to start tomorrow. However, I started feeling unwell yesterday and woke up feeling worse and with a temperature and tested positive for Covid

Inadvertent taper of prednisolone
I inadvertently took 5mg instead of 10mg prenisolone for 2 days( before which everything was fine) and all my inflammation symptoms of my uveitis came back(haziness etc). . Now I'm back on 10mg . Any idea how long it would take for these symptoms to resolve itself?

Update, couple of questions and looking for Rheumatologist recommendation
Hi everyone, I last posted around 12 months ago but have been following the forum and reading the posts since then. As a quick recap I am now 47 years old, I was diagnosed with PMR in January 2022 following a blood test that showed raised ESR and CRP markers. I was fairly active prior to the symptoms

PMR News from Med page 1.10.23
Tofacitinib was given at 10 mg/day along with, to start, 15 mg/day of
prednisone
. The latter was then tapered over 20 weeks to 2.5 mg/day or less. Other agents including over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs were forbidden.

Prednisone timing
I have been taking my
prednisone
at around 3.00 am, which has worked well for me. Am now at 7mg and reducing to 6.5. It seems sensible to move my first dose to 6 a.m when I naturally wake up. so that my own cortisol can take over. Does this make sense? Thanks, Jane
