Going hyper after radioactive iodine treatment?
Does anyone have experience with radioactive iodine for hyperthyroidism? I did in the beginning of August to treat my hyperthyroidism and heart palpitations. At first they seemed to go away but lately I’ve noticed pretty bad shortness of breath while trying to talk to ppl and fast heart rate with palpitations

Potassium
Iodide
, Vitamin A, Selenium, Zinc, Vitamin D-3 and B-Complex. None of these supplements have made a noticeable difference.

Hi. I appreciate i heard it before here ‘multi vitamins’ are not always suitable for hypo patients but my consultant wants me to take a prenatal leading up to my ivf and i am already on so many supplements (vit d,c,fishoild,q10,e,b12) Found this vegan prenatal that has folate but also iodine. I

American Thyroid Association "Foggy Brain" Survey
Members of The American Thyroid Association might have received an email inviting them to complete a survey on “foggy brain”. Afraid I have deep reservations about this. What is their motivation? All these years and suddenly they produce a survey? To what end? Will they take the results and apply them

Disappointing hospital visit
I’m absolutely gutted. I asked to see the specialist endo that was on the list of endos provided by thyroid UK and I didn’t get to see him. I’m hypo following RAI in 2011 and my health has got much worse within last couple of years or so. Last test results in the photo. (B12 range 200-900) So apparently

Help with reading materials on Graves -> RAI -> Hypo
Hello - I have learned so much from this forum and I would really like to learn more so I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good reading material? Specifically interested to understand the importance of thyroid antibodies. And whether I should be continuing to look at these going forwards. I

Advice on my bloods and plan please?
Hi there, I am new here, I was referred because my bloods suggest subclinical hypothyroidism. I would love some input on my interpretation and plan if possible! I have plenty of the symptoms and it runs in my family. I am 28. I also have an MECFS diagnosis, and delayed cortisol production in the mornings

What are your thoughts on thyroid regeneration?
As far as I know, these are the ways you can become hypothyroid. One, you have a birth defect that causes hypothyroidism, Two, you have had radioactive iodine treatment. Three, you have had your thyroid surgically removed Four, you have hashis I'm told i have Hashimoto's, but I'm sure it was only by

Bit of a rant! I’m so disheartened by lack of care.
3 years ago a nodule was discovered on my thyroid during various scans for breast cancer. I opted to see an endocrinologist privately just so I could get away on holiday. I had blood tests and a biopsy and was diagnosed with sub clinical thyrotoxicosis. The option was given of monitoring with blood tests

I'm having RAI in about 10 days and wondered if it was safe to take some 'gummies' - cannabis edibles - with me?

Different approaches to delivering injections
I sometimes wonder if there is ‘best practice’ in delivering injections or is it always down to the individual practitioner. Last Friday I had the same person give me injections as one time when it took 5 days to recover. She is very kind and takes her time, explains every move, cleans well. and

Hyperthyroid/Thyroid Nodules/ Stopping Carbimazole
Hi, I am Hyperthyroid, no antibody problems just nodules overproducing. I last posted 7 months ago on having to make a decision to stop Carbimazole and have RAI. Covid delayed this decision but I have a telephone appt with Endo later this month. Had bloods done 10th August and having more in 2 weeks

Follicular thyroid cancer
I was diagnosed with a benign goitre back in 2015. After noticing they had grown I’ve had further investigations and then a partial thyroidectomy. I have been told I have follicular cancer and now need to have the rest removed and potentially nuclear iodine. My tumour was encapsulated in thyroid but

Iodine for injections and hyperthyroidism
Any nine have hyperthyroidism? I am suspected of having this as I had done very dodgy TSH and T3 results and am having further blood tests a day after my next injection. I read somewhere that iodine can make hyperthyroidism work and since it’s squirted straight onto the eye prior to an injection I wonder
