Statins aid PCa control?
Is there a specific statin(s) that are helpful with PCa? One was mentioned a while ago, but I don't recall the name. My husband has been taking Pravastatin for high cholesterol for many years, but I don't think this was what was mentioned on this site. Any info?

Which statin to take with Nubeqa/Darolutamide? Pitivastatin or a different statin?
Thus, I researched and saw that
Pitavastatin
/Livalo does not process through the liver, in the same way as the aforementioned statins. I think they said it is water based as well, which could reduce interactions that are related to Lipitor or Crestor, with Nubeqa.

Not All Statins Are Equal
Many people quote what dose of statin they are on but not which type. The table shows the reduction in LDL (bad cholesterol) for different statins and doses. Before you ask I am on 40mg Atorvastatin as my student liver (🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺) couldn't cope with 80mg! Fluvastatin: 20 mg/day, 21% reduction

Pravastatin Experience
I was just wondering if any of you guys had had any bad/good experiences while taking pravastatin. I’m really nervous of starting this medication but have vascular problems with my legs and am being urged to take it. My reason for hesitancy is I have recently been told I have had extreme Lateral Hip

Statin change
I had been on 80mg Atorvastaton following a SCA and HA in. 2019. Following fatigue and muscle aches my GP advised a weeks breaks which turned into nearly a month because I felt great not taking them. When I finally managed to get another GP appointment they have now put me on 10mg pravastatin. As happy

Do you have constant low level back pain at the bottom of your back?
I’m on 5 different drugs and wondering if any of them likely causing low level back pain? The drugs are Candesartan, Asprin, Prasugrel, Bisoprolol and Pravastatin. When on so many drugs it’s difficult to know which one it might be.

Statins and Type 2 Diabetes
Not strictly speaking an MPN question but I’d be interested to know if anyone has had a similar experience of statins and insulin resistance as a possible side effect. When I was first diagnosed with ET 17 years ago my GP put me on Simvastatin to reduce my cholesterol, which was only slightly high, and

Heart Medication Side Effects
I had a heart attack and 3 stents fitted 5 months ago, and seems I have recovered quite well. Prior to this I had been on Atenolol, Pravastatin, and Ramipril for 20 years, and for 6 years suffered from perephial neuropathy, in lower legs and feet.
