statin change

I have been on 5mg Rosuvastatin for about 6 months now, and for some reason have started to

have symptoms and side effects! dizziness/nausea, tingling in hands, blurred eyesight, really

strange for it to come on after 6 months, but there you go!

I looked at lots of websites that recommends if you get side effects on rosuvastatin it is safe to

take it every other day, but i have stopped taking it, and will contact Dr's to ask if I can change

prescription. within a few days of stopping all side effects gone, and bags more energy.

I may ask to change to Pravastatin as I see online that it is the weakest statin, therefore tends

to give least side effects to people, does anyone have any experience of 10m Pravastatin?

would be interested to hear your experiences.

I used to have 80mg Artovostatin....thought i had side effects..muscle ache etc. swithed to rosuvastatin 10mg...turned round my ratio from 1:2 to 2:1!! no side effects...i think!!

To calculate your cholesterol ratio, divide your total cholesterol number by your HDL cholesterol number. So if your total cholesterol is 200 mg/dL (5.2 mmol/L) and your HDL is 50 mg/dL (1.3 mmol/L), your ratio would be 4-to-1. Higher ratios mean a higher risk of heart disease.

I reacted to atorvastatin, getting worse over years until a wonderful doctor identified the cause. I later tried three other statins under hospital supervision, including Pravastatin and had problems with all of them, so I hope you find different. Don't despair if not, as there is still bempedoic acid and the -lirocumabs to try.
