My saga goes on
😀 Given up on
Pilocarpine
prescription. Getting nowhere. Disappointed. Man Roy Inf sent apt for Occupational Therapy for help with gadgets and supports for arms as pain increasing. May hear when I can go on Fibromyalgia management course. Not heard anything yet on CT from last week... Good thing?

Pilocarpine / Cevimeline for dry mouth
The official use of
pilocarpine
is to trigger the production of saliva in cancer patients, however a doctor can prescribe it for PD if s/he sees fit. It works, but there are downsides: it is short acting and only lasts for a few hours.

Pilocarpine (salagen): update
The rheumatologist was interested in my active sjogrens, and suggested a trial of
pilocarpine
. I went home, googled
pilocarpine
...the info I found did not make me like the prospect of a trial ...loads of really spooky side effects...but, as eye drops, at least, perhaps easier to undergo.

Dry Mouth (Xerostomia)
Has anyone tried using
Pilocarpine
or Cevimeline tablets for helping to alleviate the symptoms of dry mouth. They have been used with some success in the USA but are not licensed for use in the UK because there have been no clinical trials.

Anyone here with experience of pilocarpine (salagen)?
So, I would be very glad to hear about others' experiences of
pilocarpine
....I'll feel better about a trial of
pilocarpine
if I've heard something from someone on forum...am not afraid of bad reactions, just want to go into this with my eyes wide open

Pilocarpine
Has anyone tried this medication? I've been having problems with dry/sore throat that's probably in a flare and my normal spray is not having any effect. The consultant suggested this medicine on my last visit. I declined as it was under control at the time and was put off by the side affects. Now it
