Physio and rollator!
So, I saw a physio last Monday, and she recommended I go from being unsteady with my stick to going onto a rollator (the one thats like a zimmer frame with wheels and it also has a seat). I got it the next day, Tuesday, but I've been a bit scared using it. However, this morning, the physio visited me

I am a very active person and had never heard of PMR. My first sign of an issue was a big one and quite strange. I had just spent 8 straight hours driving and when I got home I could hardly get out of the car or walk. Thighs were killing me to the point of I had to lift my legs with my arms to

Has anyone heard of Parsonage Turner Syndrome? Out of interest.
Hello , I was diagnosed with PMR in September 2012 . I had returned from holiday , had my annual flu jab and noticed awful stiffness in my arms and hips whilst at Yoga . It increased to agonising electric shock pains , from shoulders downwards , my biceps would almost spasm and go hard , the pain

Weakened hip flexor muscles
After moving to Scotland last year, I asked for referral to a Rheumatologist as I had been having pain in left hip on standing and walking. Was told they didn't deal with PMR left that to Drs. After an X ray of pelvis and hips I was told nothing wrong with hip joint, but my pelvis was tilted and lower

Vibration plate
I have been going to physical therapy for 6 weeks now and feel so much better. One of the treatments they use is a percussion massager gun after I am done doing my excercises. I have been reading about how beneficial a vibration plate is so have ordered one. Interested to hear who is using one and if

Hi I would like to share what I've encountered the last 6 months and would love some feedback from anyone I fell ill back in late June 23 It seemed like a cold or flu coming on which turned into pneumonia in both lungs followed by a anti resistant bacterial infection baumanni that led to ards sepsis

Heart Rate Monitors
This may be a silly question but I'm a little confused. Whenever I see a doctor I'm often asked if I have a heart rate monitor and a blood pressure machine that can deal with AF. My BP machine can't detect AF but seems to be accurate otherwise when compared to readings at my GP. When it comes to heart

Back on the IC more than exercising and 🤞🤞🤞
Well after trying hard to ignore heel and hip pain since Christmas I decided to make an appointment with the physio. Went yesterday and after a very thorough examination he decided I had Achilles tendinitis and my OA of hip wasn’t helping it he also felt my age old back surgery was affecting both.

Weekly Chat 22 - 28 January: jinxed it 🙈🤷♀️🛋️
(Edited to clarify I didn't really think I needed a hip replacement - I just looked as if I was on a waiting list for one if you watched me trying to get going from a stop! Apologies for any overdramatisation leading to confusion 🙈) Hello lovely VRBs. How's your week been? We'd love to hear all about

What to Know About Physical Therapy for Parkinson’s Disease
Physical therapy alone may not be enough to manage severe Parkinson’s disease symptoms. However, when used along with medications or other types of therapy, it can help improve a person’s ability to perform daily tasks and improve their quality of life. https://www.healthgrades.com/right-care/parkinsons-disease

Facial palsy recovery
Hi all, I had my AN surgery in 2018 and after that I did physio for a while for the facial palsy. They also used to give me Botox injection on my chin to tighten it, but I had reaction due to Botox so they stopped. After a year or so I also stopped doing physio as my face started looking a little better

NHS pension and 3 year review to change to tier 2
Hello I am in receipt of a tier 1 NHS ill health pension. I was given a 3 year option for a review. Part of the reason for not granting tier 2 ( unable to permanently work in any capacity ) was that l should attend pain management, migraine clinics and that l could do admin work under a flexible working

I have a very wobbly gait
Physiotherapy
did not help me, it even made me worse. Can somebody advise what exercises were good for you. When I walk now I use either stick when I walk with the help of my partner, or use a rollator. I feel dizzy after rowing machine.

Sciatica
I have stage 4 deep bowel endo. I keep getting really bad sciatica about once every couple of months. My physio says she treats 5 women who also have sciatica and endo. My gyno says it is not related. Anyone else suffer with sciatica and endometriosis? I am 2 years and 2 months into the waiting list

I have been diagnosed Costachondritus as a result of sucessful Keyhole heart surgery. Looking for advice....
Hello 👋😊My physio said it would take a long time to heal and it was really about not straining the area further. Am supposed to be building up my heart post surgery so this is conflicting advice. Though could look at lower body activities to promote cardio strength I was wondering if Active 8 complete
