My husband had a sudden cardiac arrest on 6th December last year, he was on bisoprolol , had an ICD implant then arrested again in Jan and Feb this year, they took him off bisoprolol and put him on nebivolol which didn't agree with him, then finally now on sotolol , can i ask why they changed you from bisoprolol to soltolol ? He started on 40 mg twice a day , he did feel tired for a couple of weeks, they have now just increased to 80 mg x2 a day, he hasn't really noticed any extra tiredness, how long have you been on sotolol ?

Thanks Have had Af and my ICD has kicked in twice, last time was April. They know that sometimes the extra heart beat which we all get causes my heart to go into uncontrolled af and that's when my ICD works. The sotatol is supposed to reduce those effects. Started on 2x 80mg then increased to 4x80mg but due to tiredness reduced to 3x80mg which I think has helped just a bit

Lee was on the lowest dose and he seemed OK, must admit since they have upped it , he seems fine . He won't be on anything except sotolol now, seems it's the only one that dosent make him arrest .Could it be one of your other tablets that I'd reacting with it to make you tired ?

Lee had his arrests because of ventricular fibrillation , the sotolol sorted that out but he was still having AF that's why they upped the sotolol

yes me! It is settling a bit though 2 months in. Bisoprolol has an effect of reducing your body’s natural production of melatonin so it often causes poor sleep which adds to the tiredness. I now take 5 mg of melatonin 3 x week half an hour before bedtime - this helps a lot with my fatigue. But Bisoprolol reduces the strength of your heartbeat so your heart doesn’t have to work as hard so your muscles don’t get as good a supply of oxygenated blood to keep you active - this is what causes the generalised fatigue. It does improve with time though ( at least it has for me)
