Am having problems finding a medication for high BP 180/990 this is the third Dr has suggested Perindopril 2mg..........side effects same as caused problems before eg fainting.
I feel I must somehow take them Dr suggested before going to bed.
Anyone else had trouble accepting BP meds,and did you manage to work through the side effects if so how long before they ceased?

it can sometimes be a problem getting used to them, people experience these issues in different ways and have varied times before they habituate (if they do). Firstly, I suggest you have a look at the website of the specialist charity Blood Pressure UK. It may be a good idea to take them at night but their “half life” varies so that may not work.
A further suggestion is to have a word with the pharmacist attached to your doctors group of surgeries - ask the do ‘s receptionist. He or she might be able to guide the doctor.
Having had high B/P for many years u do understand reducing B/P is important. Side effects are a nuisance and as said before they effect everyone differently. Take your GP’s advice and try the meds at night, I presume the surgery will do regular monitoring, blood test( re sodium) & monitoring B/P. If all fails ask for a referral to a cardiologist, they are the experts and GP practices should use them more for resistant B/P. 🍀
Hi there, I am on perindopril and have reduced from 16mg to 12mg…it’s the only med that helps, hang in there—some times it takes a lot of trial and error…the side effects of other meds were worse, this one causes no swelling
