HANGING UP MY SPIKES.
Well as you can tell I am leaving Health Unlocked (MaleCare) since regrettably my red carpet is frayed and threadbare. It’s ironic I am abandoning the ship just as The Constitution of Medical Knowledge is being implemented in dear old Health Unlocked. This implementation has nothing with me abandoning

CABG and beyond
Hi all. I had a triple bypass 9 months ago and went very well. The last week or so though i've been getting a bit out of breath walking sometimes ( i walk fast). Nothing major and nothing like before my bypass, but it's got me worrying i have some blockage after 9 months, with good diet and exercise.

Very cold with chest pain.
I'm in Australia, we are mid winter, sorry for all those struggling with the heat. Yesterday, I had chest pain and was extremely cold, I used my spray a couple of times and it settled. It just took me off guard, I wasn't exercising. I had my last stent end of February. It is unusual for me to

Baseline troponin level after cabg
Dear All Just wanted to ask if anyone knows what is the baseline troponin level for someone who has done cabg say almost a year ago? I know that normally it should be less than 14. But I was told by a doctor that a cabg patient will have a normal higher elevated level? With thanks Shaivi

Twinges in chest
Hi All, Just a quick question, had a stent fitted in October 2020 and all has been fine, last day or two been getting small twinges left of centre of chest, may be down to me lifting a couple of heavy items recently but wanted to just check if anyone else has experienced this? Thanks

Looking for travel insurance advice
I was lucky enough to discover that I required a stent before i suffered any heart damage, my clinician says there are no concerns about ongoing health issues, and i am minimal risk - where can i find fair travel insurance that acknowledges this? i was quoted £800 to cover me for a 2 month stay in australia

A diagnosis! Yipee! Kawasaki Disease, look for calcified aneurysms! (also a question about warfarin)
Hey you lovely lot! So, some of you know that I needed a 2x CABG Jan 2022 aged 34 (very nearly my newly plumbed heart's birthday!) and every Dr/Cardiologiost that looked at my notes/history/angiograms came away scratching their heads and not understanding what had happened or why my vessels were so

Anyone had EMDR
Hi all like so many on here we all know how our mental health suffers following the sort of cardiac problems we all have. I’ve been told a few times due to My 2 x HT and quadruple CABG all within a month and what I’ve seen at work I probably have PTSD well that’s now been confirmed and I have to say

2023 started on a downer again.
We’ll I thought after my 2 x MI and my quadruple CABG in 2022 I was hoping 2023 would be better and I’m sure it will but yesterday on the first of a new year I ended up at A and E. At least it’s not my heart at least I don’t think so, pain swelling and a lump in my groin, I think it’s an infected lymph

Well that’s the 7th Angiogram complete
Well as promised here’s the update, just came up from the CAF lab an hour ago after procedure to see if needed another stent and ended up with another 3 😳, that totals 5 in my LAD in just over three years since my HA, hopefully will be a while now before in need anymore interventions. Also hope I can

Reason to be cheerful
Obvs a lot of people are really worried about heart diseases in this forum. TBH I sometimes share those concerns ... but in general I try to post positive reassuring posts about CHD and CAD. I'm 63 (64 in a few days) and have been really busy with a nerdy consultancy project. Quite by chance the project

So fed up, after CABG worse off.
I don't know if anyone remembers me. I had a triple bypass on 16th September followed by internal bleeding, severe AF, a collapsed lung and fluid on the lung. Two days after discharge I was rushed back in to my local hospital with a saddle PE, PEs in both lungs and a clot in my heart. These had clearly

Indigestion after Heart Attack
I had my heart attack last year. One stent. Now experiencing right chest pain sometimes in the evening. I often think I am having another heart attack but after going to casualty I realise it is indigestion. I have never suffered with this prior to the heart attack. The pain is bad. It can be difficult

High heart rate on exercise.
Hi all, had a left coronary stent January 2019 and feeling good since. I walk 6klm daily usually at a pace of 5.5kph (just over 3.5 mph). Recently I notice on my apple watch that very occasionaly my heart rate hits 143bpm after a couple of kilometres and if I stop it shoots down to 80bpm in less than

Not right after stent
Morning all does anybody feel worse after having a stent? I know I got severe coronary artery disease/angina but I felt pretty ok before I had this procedure and diagnosis, my heart feels like its aching all the time and I cant do much, before I was working full time at the gym 3 times a week.

Oh Lord
My mom use to walk the floor at night due to RLS ( there wasnt a name for it back then) and now if i dont take 2 Ropinpole by 3 pm and a pramipexole before going to sleep ( not likely with insomnia) my left leg goes crazy. I had a clogged Aorta in my left leg. they put a stent in and now the RLS is worse

No support
Morning all 6 weeks ago I ended up having a stent and diagnosed with angina all out of the blue, did have a bit of breathlessness and chest pain. Basically I was in and out of hospital within two days, loads of heart medications and basically left to get on with it, I've had no support, only now
