YES! I'm stage 3 but the neph saw in the CAT scan that one kidney wasn't draining at all. So went to urologist to have a stent put in .... long story short....the dr attempted to and found I had a major blockage. He tried to remove the blockage and was unsuccessful. Ended up a few months later I had to have the kidney removed. Since then, I have no issues and feel great again.

Yes by a few points. But I'm now on mainly plant base diet and watch my intake closely which has helped tremendously.

My hubby had this or something similar (nephrostomy and/or urostomy) on a transplanted kidney. Had a drain in the kidney and near the transplant incision (one was a crazy JP drain) and a stent in a problem area of the new kidney's ureter where it connected to my hubby's bladder. That was done under anesthesia. Had the stent and drains in place for a couple of months to encourage proper draining and healing. Removal of the stent and drains was outpatient. Procedure was performed by an "interventional radiologist" at our transplant center. I never knew these specialists existed until then. The outcome was successful! And numbers continued on as usual. My personal recommendation is to seek out a professional who does these routinely for a great outcome.

There are different way to install a stent and its best to have that discussion with your Urologist. They also comes in different shapes, length, size and material. Best of luck.
