Morning all does anybody feel worse after having a stent? I know I got severe coronary artery disease/angina but I felt pretty ok before I had this procedure and diagnosis, my heart feels like its aching all the time and I cant do much, before I was working full time at the gym 3 times a week. I am definitely not right, seems like I feel every little ache and pain in my heart, does anyone else feel the same or am I being a hypochondriac my mum is 78 and had a heart attack and two stents only on one medication and she is fitter than me sorry to go on but I'm sure some damage has been done or I've done to much

Not right after stent
Hello
I have had Bypass surgery as I think I might have told you and I have not felt right ever since however they say my heart is fine and I am starting to wonder if it is some of the meds I take but I have stuck with the same meds over a year to see if I will settle on them
It is very early days for you 6 weeks
When you say you wonder if you have been doing to much I wonder just how much you have been doing as it is good to get on with life but to pace yourself in the early days or it can make you feel worse
It could be a case of adjusting to some of your meds but of course we are not Doctors so just replying what it could be happening
I see you are going to be talking to a Nurse next week hopefully they can give you the advice you need and some reassurance of course I know it can be difficult but speaking with your Doctor if you really do not feel everything is how it should be would be something I would do
Not to frighten you in anyway and I know you will have the common sense that if you really feel something is wrong get yourself to A&E and get checked out
This could be all though to recovery but always ask the professionals or get checked if you are unsure
Let us know how you get on and especially on Tuesday once you get to speak with those Nurses , pace yourself and don't try and run before you can walk as we say x
Hiya thanks for the reply if it doesn't rain it pours I've tested positive for covid, total bed rest for me, I will ring bhf for advice if I get worse I'll keep you updated
I had two stents back in February. All fine for a month then I started to get a pain when bending over to tie my shoelaces and general bending my upper body. I spoke to cardiology and was told this is common and it will pass. It’s been a few weeks since that call and yes - the pain is virtually gone. I just needed to be patient, which I’m not very good at!
I had a stent to stop a heart attack 8 years ago. I got instant relief and it has never caused me any problems since.
It was the same for me and took a lot longer to go than I thought especially as due to covid I had no rehab. It’s more than a year now and I have recently had a stress test and my heart is fine. Now I need to speak to my GP on Monday to get him to start lowering or removing some of my meds. As I also felt fine before HA and stent I believe the cocktail of drugs is making me feel unwell. Some people take longer than others to get back to feeling okay so keep your chin up, you will get there.
