After several bouts of cellulitis I was prescribed Phenoxymethylpenicillin 250mg twice a day in 2019 and am still on them now , with no recurrence at all until this week so I have started a course of fluclox. Anyone else had this happen, or any advice would be appreciated, Shoul I go back on Phenoxymethylpenicillin

Reaction between thyroid meds and antibiotics and increased sensitivity to prescription drugs
I have really been suffering with a sinus infection following Covid in December last year. My gp prescribed Doxycycline 100 mg capsules. This was at my request. I had suffered with a sinus infection for almost eighteen months following a previous bout of Covid. The side affects were not pleasant but

Confusing outcome from mitral valve repair
My 9 year old son underwent open heart surgery in March for mitral valve repair for servere regurgitation. They are still trying to find out what caused it, all they know is he’s had some sort of infection/inflammation of the valves some point. Can’t say how long ago but the valve leaflets were like

I am SC, and I am just getting to know there's a prevalent chest infection in SCD patients. My ignorance had almost caused me my life, cause I had Sepsis through the infection, but I am still alive. Tonsillitis
So 2 days ago my sore throat started. Yesterday I noticed white spots on tonsils, went doctors and got prescribed Phenoxymethylpenicillin ( take 2 tablets 4 times a day). But today the white spots are even worse. Should the penicillin be working by now and reducing the white spots?

Wow some great news ! How did I ever cope without a fab consultant.
Hi everyone, I hope you’re not all suffering atm. Well I just had to share my good news. I went to see my consultant rheumatologist this morning, prearranged appointment I am seeing him every 4-6 weeks currently. So I’m in the grip of a terrible flare can’t tell you the pain that I’m in but I bet you

Recurrent Cellulitis - genital area … therefore Trimethoprim 100mg
I’ve had single leg Lymphoedema for 15 years now and this has been well-managed with stockings, exercise and skin care etc. Recently I’ve had monthly cellulitis attacks that always start in the genital area and spread a little. I carry Penicillin and this clears it up within 24 hours (therefore mild

A bit of everything does you good so they say
Hi last Wednesday went to Dr with sore throat, turned out it was tonsillitis. Was prescribed phenoxymethylpenicillin 1000g a day for 10 days. By Thursday had bad head cold, by Friday chest infection. Hoping the AB I have will take care of this too. This is Monday still bringing up thick green rubbish

UPDATE FROM MY ADOC.....AND CELLULITIS
Monday night Tuesday morning I felt a hotness again in my shin...First thing on Tuesday morning got an emergency appointment at my GP. He took one look and confirmed it was the cellulitis. I would need a radical treatment of very strong penicillin. Prescibed 500mg multiplied by 2 of FLUCLOXACILLIN
