Daughter coughing non stop - asthma?
Hello My now 10 year old daughter had a virus during the summer, lost her voice cooughing lots. When her voice came back it was very deep and croaky, then back to normal. She has been constantly coughing since! One GP said it was post nasal drip as she felt "stuff" dripping down the back of her throat

Another trip to A&E
Last night I woke up with the beginnings of an asthma attack at 12:30 am. My throat was really itchy and I started to cough. I gave myself ventolin 2 puffs initial then 2 more etc til I got to 10. Still no improvement but peak flow was perfect. So got up and found my husband who hadn't gone to bed

Anyone know anything about peak flow
My husband is 42 yrs old 6ft tall, recovering from a SP. He will be due to go back to work on full duties in around 6-8wks. He has been trying to improve his fitness etc. His peak flow came up at 500 yesterday (I bought a peak flow kit for him) is that bad?? Worrying like something chronic lately 😔

Hi guys, I was diagnosed with copd stage 2 a week ago when I went for an asthma check up. The nurse did a Peak Flow on me which was 350 and a FEV which was 52, she then passed me to the doctor who took my sats which were 97 and then put me on Fostair inhaler along with my usual Ventolin and Uniphyllin

Peak Flow Post Medication
Does anybody know the amount of time you have to wait to do peak flow after medication Please? It's just that if I just wait 10 mins e.g. like when did spirometry it doesn't improve that much but after 20-30 mins it does. Reading on the internet Looks supposed to do straightaway. Mine takes a while

Doctor visit tomorrow.
I meet with an allergy and asthma specialist tomorrow. Any advice? So far my gp has given me oral steroids 40mg x5 days and it just moved my peak flow up from my most bottom number (not everyday) 250 to a high of 350. I feel slightly better, but still gasp and cough at night, cough just walking my

Back on prednisone and discovered I have a virus.
I have a job interview on Monday, so I spurred my usually avoidant arse down to the doctors surgery. After a few days of one good blow and then two terrible ones, my peak flow was amber for Wednesday and I kept waking up having dreamt I couldn't breathe only to find... I really did have problems, okay

Hi there, I wonder if you can help. I haven't been diagnosed with COPD, I have asthma, but I feel as if I have COPD. My GP says my spirometry from 4 years ago is fine and not to worry. However I don't feel right at all, I find going to work hard work and usually feel tired just after lunch and need a

Hi, I wanted to ask a question about peak flow and spirometry. Just for some background, I'm a 40 year old nonsmoker. Last year my Dad sadly died having suffered with IPF. He was still relatively young at 65. His own mother died aged 51 having had lung cancer. These things made me wonder about my own

Does anyone else not use their actual best Peak Flow?
I lost my peak flow from years ago (which I only know was well above predicted because the nurse erroneously told me I didn't have asthma). So, at my new surgery I stopped avoiding reviews and my PEF was 420, though I'd taken near maximum ventolin. Anyway, a few weeks later I scored 440 but none of my

Good while it lasted
After a really good test last week for my review, the follow up was a bit of a disappointment. Nurse still very pleased with last week’s results but as my chest was wheezing and rattling did a quick peak flow check, which was low again. Ah well, blood pressure normal and lost 12 pounds in the year. Nurse
