Exercise trigger
Hi My asthma is usually triggered by allergies or emotions. Yesterday I had to run as fast as I could in the autumn air and had a nasty flare up of my asthma. I used nebuliser a couple of times yesterday and overnight had a horrible sore gunky chest. Today peak flow is still low and chest is sticky (

Peak Flow Levels
What does everyone here class as a good peak flow reading, and what is a poor reading? I usually only have mild asthma, and my peak flow remains stable... This past week or so Iv noticed it has dropped... Iv had a cold, really bad cough and been really wheezy and crackly. I have been taking my inhaler

Nearly at peak flow 450.
Well after 3 weeks of throat chest and lung infection my peak flow dropped to 400, was up at 450 for a few years. Been back doing weights cardio and all the usual gym stuff. Used my peak flow today and it's nearly up at 450. back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks off, needs must. Xxx

Coughing
I'm sorry, I seem to be posting lots just lately! So, for more than 4 weeks I've had this chest infection, numerous antibiotics and 2 lots of steroids haven't helped and now I've caught a head cold to go with it. Peak flow is around 65% and using ventolin every day. During the day my cough tends to

Mild Wheezing
Hi! Can you guys describe your wheezing sound? Can you clearly hear that it's coming from the chest? I've always been a cougher, and for the past year I've had a slight wheeze at night every once in a while. However, after the temperatures have dropped to below 10 C where I live, I've had the wheeze

Grr can't shake this cough!
Now more antibiotics to try and get rid of this cough/chest infection. Now both lungs have 'creps'? No wheeze tho, so apparently no need for more steroids or an increase in seretide. Peak flow still only 65% at best. Also had chest x-ray to see what's going on. Following this, if it continues I'll need

After my third lot of antibiotics and second lot of steroids, I might actually be starting to improve, yay! I have 2 more days of antibiotics and steroids left, hopefully that'll be it for some time!! My peak flow is up to 65% , I'm only using my blue inhaler about 2 or 3 times a day (usually after I've

Can't face going to see the asthma nurse
I'm 33 and have been diagnosed with asthma about a month ago by a Respiratory Specialist. However, at best I have high peak values than I ought to have based on my age and height, but the Respiratory Specialist was not interested in this only based on how much the values went up as I started to use an

Advice on severity
Hi, I always get good advice from this website due to the amount of people suffering with lung problems, so I hope to get a bit more today please. Well unexpectedly this morning two nurses turn up at my door to do a lung check from my local surgery, yes I do know them from the past. So they check me

Asthma attack recovery time?
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums, and I'm wondering if anyone can help. I had an asthma attack/exacerbation on Tuesday, luckily I didn't need to go to A&E, but my GP put me on a 7 day course of prednisolone. I'm also using a Fostair 200/6 preventer and salbutamol when I need it. My peak flow readings

Incruse Ellipta
I've been on this new inhaler for a month and am considering stopping it as its given me first a blocked nurse followed by a constantly runny nose. It's not made any significant increase to my peak flow either. Does anyone have any good reports from using it?

When To Seek Urgent Help
Read recently (maybe even on this Forum) that a lot of Asthma Fatalities are caused by Asthmatics underestimating the severity of an attack they are suffering. I decided to supplement my 'gut feeling' as to how ill I was by incorporating some more objective criteria. I guess knowing how you feel must
