inducing asthma by doing Peak Flow
Just wondered if I am the only one with this problem. I have brittle asthma and if I am well I can do a Peak Flow and I become a bit wheezy. If I do the standard 3 Peak Flows then I have a full attack and need a nebulizer. Needless to say, I dont record my Peak flow much as it makes me ill. When I go

My GP has told me to keep a close look over my peak flow readings so i can work out if i am likely to have an atack or not. i felt the explanation was rather rushed and i don't really know what i'm looking for. My personal bes is 400 although on a really good day it can be slightly higher but at the

Can anxiety cause you to wheeze?
I had a bad night last night. Think it may be caused by anxiety. My peak flow is down to 400 this morning. Its normally 420-430. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Julie XX

Whats your peak flow?
Just wondered what everyone's normal peak flow is? My all time personal record is 550, with a usual score of 480ish when under control. The last week or so, its been in the 300's. I have no idea what the ""normal"" range is although I guess that it all varies per individual. Would be interested to

Symptoms or not?
Hello everyone welcome to my first topic post!! I was diagnosed with adult on-set asthma at the beginning of July. It was very scary, off to hospital in ambulance on oxygen etc. The asthma nurse has increased my symbicort to 4 puffs twice daily and for the first two weeks the need for my blue inhaler

Pneumonia and Asthma
I have just come out of hospital after a seven week stint, and in a nutshell: (deep-ish breath) i had bacterial pneumonia in both lungs, as well as pleurisy and infection from an incrdibly rare bacteria, fusobacterium necrophorum. I also suffered respiratory failure and was on a ventilator for 11 days

Hi, I have spent the majority of this year in hospital with my asthma and chest infections/pneumonia, the last time i was admitted they managed to stabilise my asthma over a week with a combination of magnesium, aminophylinne and a stay on HDU for CPAP. Once i was stable enough to be on the normal ward

Hi am new - to here and to asthma!
Only diagnosed in November. I didn't really believe it to be honest. Had chest infection that went on and on and on. In and out hosp. Diagnosed with asthma. Given inhaler - it helped. Then I got better. And only felt bad when near strong perfume etc. Then last monday started wheezing and coughing

Peak flow
Hi, I recently became diagnosed with asthma. I'm on a preventer treatment and have ventolin/salamol as a reliever when necessary. Stress seems to be my main trigger. I did a peak flow reading at the doctor's recently, and my reading was 500. Is this normal for an asthmatic, as I'm not familiar with

Worried about asthma/chest infection
Hi everyone, Usually my asthma is well controlled, that is until I developed a chest infection last week. I went to the doctor who prescribed me amoxicillin for 7 days and a 5 day course of oral steroids. These seemed to get it into better control again until I developed a bad throat and ear ache 3/
