Am I being pathetic?
Hi I have chronic severe small airways disease caused by long term asthma as well as widespread bronchiectasis FEV around 40 per cent expected. Peak flow 120. Sats pretty normal. I find life a bit of a struggle at times and really want to know if I'm just being weedy or how other people feel in same

Asthma or something else?
For the last 3 years I have had a strange crackly, squeaky sound but only some of the time. I kind of thought it was seasonal. My GP didn't think it was Asthma, he arranged various heart tests and it was found I had mild aortic stenosis. My current doctor is revising the tests. However, I have been

Severe asthma help
I have had asthma since I was 5 years old, I'm now 29 and it has gotten progressively worse. I have finally been referred to a specialist after all these years. I have tried montelukast but the side effects gave me severe migraines which left me bed bound and I have two young children to run around

Peak flows good but still short of breath
Hi. I had a severe asthma exacerbation that lasted 10 weeks! It is finally under control. Yay! My peak flow is back to normal and no wheezing or rattle. But I am still short of breath sometimes and weak. Has anyone else experienced that? I hate to go back to the doctor when my peak flows are good, but

Peak flow good but SpO2 at 94?
I'm having a really bad time with asthma lately, I've been to A&E a few times but they havne't done much about it. The thing is I don't have the classic wheezing symptoms, but I do feel short of breath, with pain and pressure in my chest. I use my peak meter and pulse oximeter to measure my oxygenation

New with odd symptoms
Hi all. Newbie & first post, might be a little long. I'm a 32 year old male, generally healthy (gym 3 times a week, run, box etc) but my asthma has been badly controlled pretty much since it was diagnosed when I was about 17. I have smoked for a lot of my adult life, since before asthma and during but

I am afraid to hope, but I think
I think my uncontrolled asthma of the past 6 weeks is getting under control. It happened so fast. Yesterday and now today, I am hardly wheezing or short of breath. My peak flow used to drop by the hour after using Ventolin, and now it stays pretty steady all day. The allergist increased my Symbicort

Rather strange GP appointment
Hi there For background info, I'm 44 and have had asthma since a toddler, which improved as a young adult and then worsened again as I got older. I'm on Flutiform (250, two puffs twice daily), montelukast, salbutamol, cetirizine and recently carbocisteine (for persistent productive cough). Apart from

Frustrated :(
Hi all.. I've had asthma since I was about 9 and it was so mild I would almost forget I had it! I'm now 20 and this past year, I feel like my asthma has got so much worse.. However, where it has always been well controlled, I'm starting to wonder whether a lot of time its all in my head.. For example

Shortness of breath but nothing shows in tests?
For about a month now I've gradually had more and more trouble breathing. However, nothing showed up in any tests. My oxygen levels are 99-100%, peak flow is a little under but nothing of concern, nothing wrong showed on blood tests, an x-ray I had was perfectly clear and fine. I've tried sleeping pills

Partial Lung Collapse
Hi everyone Had some shocking news (to me) and hopefully somebody could make things clearer and if I need a second opinion. For three weeks, I have had an annoying cough and as the TV advert says, I went to my GP to see what it was. I was refered to the hospital for a chest xray and I got the results

Referred to lung specialist
Hello all After numerous visits to the GP with a chronic cough (started Feb 2016) went away and then started again Jan 2017 and has now persisted - been tested for asthma, PND, allergies but unfortunately I am not responding to any treatment - A chest xray was done 2016 and Mar 2017 which was both clear

Mild Asthma Under Control, What Are My Next Steps?
Hi Guys, The doctors have prescribed me with a steroidal inhaler (beclometasone based) and a blue inhaler, I rarely use the blue and the brown is used 2 puffs morning and night. This seems to have controlled the chest tightness/cough etc just fine but where to go from here? I am still left confused as

Deep sound during pef
I am new to this (two months), and lately I have experienced a deep sound from my throat during tests on my peak flow meter. It is as if something is vibrating in my throat, and it is a little uncomfortable. Also, when it is very present, it seems to lower my pef a bit even though I have taken my Bricanyl
