Breakthrough Afib episodes while on Flecainide
I’m having afib breaking through my daily portion of 200 mg of Flecainide (Tambocor) lately, after a quiet time (2 months) with no Afib at all. Now almost daily and some days even 3 to 4 incidents. I presume the culprit is increased psychological stress (my mother in law with dementia stayed over for

Throwing up triggers AFIB
I was officially diagnosed with having a fib just a few months after my son was born in 2018. I believe I may have experienced this as a child growing up and didn’t know what was happening. I have ONLY had afib episodes after I’ve throw up. I have converted back several times with taking metoprolol

Shift from paroxysmal AFib to permanent! How can I tell if this has happened?
Hi all, I have been in AFib since 4pm on Saturday. Back then it started with my usual, very symptomatic AFib, tachycardia etc which lasted for about 5 hours....took 2.5 bisoprolol as pill in pocket when it first started. Since then, I have been in constant afib which is not as symptomatic. However,

Moving the Clock Forward can be an Afib Trigger
Apparently, losing that extra hour of sleep can trigger afib with some of us. Following is an excerpt from an article from heart.org's newsroom. [i]“We don’t really know the specific reason for increases in heart disease and stroke during the daylight saving time change, but it likely has something

My Husband has had afib that would come and go for a couple years, always went into NSR on his own. Then beginning of January he has been is constant afib 24/7. He had a cardioversion on 2/27 and stayed in NSR for 72 hours. He has been back in 24/7 afib. He is on elliquis and a calcium channel blocker

Golf after ablation
Hello all I am due to have my ablation for atrial flutter / left side atrial tachycardia in a couple of weeks. I am down to play 18 holes of golf on successive days 10 days after that; is this over-ambitious? Should I leave it longer and scratch from those events? Thanks

Cardioversion with amiodarone or straight to ablation?
CV 24/2 failed after 1 week. Heart function team suggest course of amiodarone combined with further CV after a few months of this medication. They have left it with me to consider what I would prefer to do. Either proceed with the above ( with a list of potential side effects which are impossible

Amiodarone
I was admitted to hospital last week with extreme AF (between 28 and 270 bpm) After a couple of days of unsuccessful drug therapy, I was given a cardioversion (my second) and went back into NSR immediately. I've been given a new to me drug called Amiodarone, which seems to have a lot of potential side

Treadmill test
As an aid to diagnosing persistent chest pains - the consultant thinks they are non-cardiac but wants to investigate a bit more-I’m to be given a treadmill test in a few weeks. I asked for this instead of the more rigourous but not very pleasant “stress test”. The heart rate will be raised to 100 during

Arrhythmias
Hi Everyone,I have Afib, 1st episode in December 2022 resolved by cardioversion followed by 2 episodes in July 2023, lasting 24 and 12 hours respectively. I am currently on 1.25 bisoporal daily. Over recent nights I have been getting arrhythmias which my scan watch and omron devices don't classify as

cardioversion and Flecainide
An update - I had my cardioversion privately a week ago - all good, so far….. I feel so much better. HR now around 55-60 instead of 90-100 ( on high dose drugs) I was immediately taken off Digoxin and told to continue the BB Nebivolol 10mg a day. Then started on Flecainide 100mg daily, with the BB.

Why has my husband been given Candesartan when he hasn’t got high blood pressure . It must be for his stage 2 heart failure I presume .
My husband has been given this drug along with digoxin to add to his other meds , bisoprol , antorvaststin , Lansoprazole, edoxoban and dapagliflozin. He ll be rattling soon . He has been relatively stable . The ecg showed heart rate of 100 so I presume the cardiologist wants to lower it further . Is

metoprolol 25 mg and low heat rate
hi, in a situation where there is a low heart rate between 55 to 60 bpm when in afib, does it make sense to take metaprolol drug, designed to reduce the ventricular heart rate, amongst other things? my allopathic md prescribed this and i cannot help but feel a bit uncomfortable. i don't wish the heart

blinding period success!
This week I will hit the 3 month blinding period date! I remain in Normal sinus rhythm and will be able to discontinue my Eliquis! However 3 nights ago I began to have PAC’s. Today I recorded them pretty consistently 3-6 per minute. So bummed as I haven’t really even been aware of my heart beat in last

Treatment Options
Diagnosed with Atrial flutter in January, 2023 . In December, 2023 went into Afib and had cardioversion which lasted until mid January, 2024. Went back into Afib Jan 15/24, tried Flecainide and 2nd cardioversion 2 days ago, which failed. Are there other treatment options to get out of Afib ?
