DEFIBRILLATOR FITTING
hi everyone This is the first time I have posted on here ....but I have been reading stories/information/ replies. It's been suggested that I should have a defibrillator fitted and I've done the bad thing by looking it all up on Google (silly thing to do) I'm now very anxious about the shocks that it

Distended stomach & abdomen after ablation
Bit of a strange one this, so thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a similar experience and a diagnosis. I had my 2nd catheter ablation 4 days ago under Gen Aanaesthetic; the ablation, plus cardioversion, seems to have gone well (allowing for it being very early days) and the groin wound is healing

Humidity and AF
Hi all. Here in SW England we’ve had such heavy, humid weather the past few days. Does anyone else struggle with more breathlessness and fatigue in these conditions? I have persistent AFib and normally get a bit puffed, but this seems twice the normal load, Not to mention the havoc it has caused with

Update on post ablation - day 6
Hi. Well after posting such a positive message to try to cheer up anyone waiting for their first ablation, I came back down to earth with a bump. I felt so well on Wednesday (ablation on Tuesday) that I did everything I felt like doing but at about 01.30, I got a full-blown AF episode which I wasn't

How quickly do tablets work?
Day 1 of taking 2.5mg of bisoprolol and 60mg edoxaban...how quickly should the tablets start to work? Monitoring blood pressure and worried if the dosage is too high

Sotalol Drug Load
Scheduled to shift from Metoprolol and Diltiazem to Sotalol this next week. Choice of yet another ablation (6th one) was given but I figured, “why keep scarring up my heart?” Did I make the right decision? Seems to me ablations aren’t working and they just manage to damage my heart, albeit in a controlled

Learn CPR and Defibrillator training
More people need CPR training. Not enough people do. I am an ex Nurse and Firefighter and seen first hand the benefits of learning CPR ect. I now have my First Aid Instructor qualification and teach Basic Life Support-CPR-Defibrillator training. My own training has helped me in 2 different situations

Newly diagnosed and don't know what to do.
My A Fib began with a mild, pulsating feeling in my throat and it promoted me to take a manual pulse reading. It was then that I noticed my heart skipped every 6th beat or so, then it stopped in less than a minute. My bpm was not more the 70.Since then, I have had an ECG and I was stunned when they said

confused with kardia reading.?
hello you lovely people. The past 2 weeks Iv had ectopic beats every day all day apart from 1 day. 4 a minute at worst. But mainly 2 per minute. On feeling my pulse it’s been NSR but with a missed beat and a little thump so I thought must be ectopics. Dusted my kardia off tonight did 4 traces and

1 week post ablation
Hi! I was diagnosed with AFib several years ago as well as atrial flutter, and PVCs . I have been on a number of meds and most recently took Flecainide 50 mg 2xday, metoprolol 12.5mg 1xday and Eliquis 2xday. I had an ablation gone 8 days ago and my EP said I could immediately drop my Flecainide
