FRUSTRATING
Does that mean that he doesn't have Parkinsons itself but what he calls
Parkinsonism
. What is the difference if any? He also does not have any tremors but only the movement issues. Any input would be appreciated.

I've taken just about everything and not only do the drugs not work, I feel like with each, I'm taking a "Parkinson's pill" that gives me all the PD symptoms and does nothing to help mitigate the ones I've already got. In recent days it was Artane. I went from having a pronounced tremor on my right side

CONFUSED
My husband who is 77 was diagnosed with
Parkinsonism
. After a bout in the hospital to treat AFib, he was put on a new med since the one he has been given was not working. The med is a heart med called Amiodarone which is controlling the AFib.

Postural Instability Gait Disorder PIGD
There apparently are two subtypes of Parkinsons. I am wondering whether or not I have PIGD. My only observable symptom is that I drag my left heel unless I concentrate on foot placement. As this is my only symptom (other than mild internally felt tremors in my left leg at times. I also note the

Exercise and Nutrition Guide
Exercise and Nutrition Guide Whole grains should cover about a quarter of your plate of food at each mealtime. Specific nutrients in whole grains, such as fiber, can also help alleviate Parkinson’s symptoms. But the nutritional content in grains differs depending on the type of grain and how it’s processed

Great book: Natural Therapies for Parkinson's Disease by Dr. Laurie K Mischley
I highly recommend this book for anyone with PD or anyone at risk for PD, I plan on buying a copy for my kids. I was diagnosed 12 years ago with early onset PD, in my early 40's and have seen several doctors, neurologists and movement disorder specialists since that time. I have always felt as though

kinetin, slows or stops the effects of Parkinson's disease on brain cells
"What we have here is a case where the molecular target has been shown to be important to Parkinson's in human genetic studies," says Shokat. "And now we have a drug that specifically acts on this target and reverses the cellular causes of the disease." The active ingredient in an over-the-counter skin

A few for the weekend
The Unreasonable Mother-in-law One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift... The next year, I didn't buy her a gift. When she asked me why, I replied, "Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!" And that's when the fight started.... ____

Cannabis relief
Marijuana definitely helps me with my tremors and stiffness. It seems to have a relaxing effect on my body overall. Problem is I don't think I could function mentally while at work, may take some practice. Any thoughts people?

Kung Fu?
I haven't written in a long time. Haven't felt I've had much to contribute, mainly because my PD has been mostly under control with the same set of meds for 2–3 years, oh lucky me! In an effort to hopefully prolong my winning streak, I've been looking for an exercise program that would be effective

John Gray On 'How I Reversed My Parkinson's Disease Symptoms.
Could it be that parkinson's starts off with there not being enough stomach acid ( Hydrochloric acid ) that the stomach ( digestive system ) is unable to break down your food into amino acids, fatty acids and so forth which is the reason that the gut is unable to feed the brain what it needs to function

Exercize? Benefit strongest for those with milder symptoms, study finds
After six months, the researchers found, there was no clear benefit for the study group as a whole. The picture looked different, however, when they focused on the 122 patients with milder Parkinson's symptoms. Among those patients, 52 percent of exercisers had a fall over six months. That compared

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Hi, I have just been told about this treatment. You sit in a pressurised room, with pure oxygen. It is being used to help MS, but it could help with the similar symptoms of PSP. Has any one used it? With what results? Lots of love Heady

Is
Parkinsonism
an early stage of Parkinson's? That is my most recent diagnosis. All the drugs I've tried -- sinemet, neurontin, amantidine, etc -- have backfired and resulted in a wild exacerbation of all my symptoms. In many ways I look like a classic PD person but not in others.

A promising disease-modifying therapy is Isradipine
Isradipine — a medication currently approved to treat high blood pressure — is being studied to determine if it can influence the course of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Researchers believe the drug works to prevent the death of dopamine-producing cells and therefore might slow the progression of disease
