I’ve posted before about our trials with synthetic and natural levadopa but after reading Dr. Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein‘s essay, I wanted to shout a big “hooray”! Is a cure for Parkinson’s disease hiding inside us?

An interview with Dr Aileen Burford Mason - Magnesium deficiency
Indeed a very informative interview. Most of the things were new for me. After watching this, I feel that the most important supplement for Parkinson's is the magnesium. She also provides guidance on dosage. One important thing I noted was that calcium intake is must alongside magnesium. Why? Watch it

A New Rabbit Hole: Magnolia Bark Extract
Somebody in my REM Sleep Behavior Disorder group mentioned how Magnolia Bark Extract has stopped their episodes. I don't know for how long but I am trying to find out. In the mean time: Therapeutic effects of honokiol on motor impairment in hemiparkinsonian mice are associated with reversing neurodegeneration

Would hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) along with Tasigna therapy be worth a look?
If a vascular disconnection is responsible for Parkinson's disease why wouldn't HBOT be considered. Its plentiful and inexpensive. There are some great ideas in the trials pipeline. There's a high probability of more failures. It may be impossible to hit a Home Run. Maybe we need to hit a single or

News that worried us and studies that gave us hope (04/2022).
Experimental
parkinsonism
does not occur with MPTP in young rats, as it does in old rats. Many other substances have a neuroprotective effect on the toxicant: magnesium (Oyanagi 2010), folic acid (Duan 2002), silymarin from milk thistle (Perez-H 2014; Jung 2014), etc.

Big pharma puts bets on alpha-synuclein in Parkinson’s – but will they pay off?
Several pharma companies think that targeting a rogue protein known as alpha-synuclein could be the key to halting or reversing neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease – but has the industry learned from a string of failures in Alzheimer’s? In the space of a few weeks, Novartis AG and Sanofi AS have
